What about Miller - Fox instead?
I'm fine with that also.

Right now, it just kind of is what it is, because with Lindgren out, we don't have a LHD who's really particularly good at defending.

When we do have one, I'd like to put him with Schneider and then do Miller-Fox. Out of the options right now, Miller is probably the best defender, and Schneider still isn't a great one, so that pair makes sense in the short-term.

They've had some bad games but they also had some really good ones, so I'd like to let Miller-Schneider cook and revisit this in the summer.

As long as Lindgren is on the roster, they're putting him with Fox and I've kind of just accepted it.

Yeah. I mean you go around the league and look at who people perceive as the best D-pairings. How often is the 2nd guy someone who can't really play good offensive hockey? Usually it's a guy who is a great puck movind D-man as well. Funny how loading up on offensive talent works both on defence and offence. You know what? The better you are offensively, the less you have to defend.

So please give Fox someone who can actually play with the puck.

This is the most backhanded compliment I've ever seen from Machinehead.
Lindgren is as good as it gets when it comes to actually defending.

When the other team has the puck, he's good at guarding the line, breaking up plays, and blocking shots at a level where he's not giving up too many shots.

Once we get the puck, you have a guy who's not a great skater, not a great passer, has no hands, has abysmal IQ with the puck, and isn't strong. He has to be the biggest target on the forecheck I've ever seen.

It's probably something I can deal with. He's still mostly an effective player if you take his career as a whole. It's just that 1) I want Fox with a guy who can play offense and 2) I'm seriously concerned about his availability. I know he's tough but he gets absolutely abused.

Is there a setting somewhere on this site that will prevent the most recent posts from showing up at the bottom of a page in a thread?

Example. I refresh this thread on page 2 and at the bottom it shows me posts on page five that I then read when I get to page five.
I would love this to be a thing... it's so confusing.

No issue with scratching Rempe tonight. I think it's good player management by Laviolette.

He has to be more careful with his hits if he's going to stick long term, and this is a little slow down to the hype train that might help the kid settle into a regular spot. I see it more as Lavi reminding Rempe that the team is fine without him going over the top, not as an attempt at sending a message or anything; just trying to calm him down a little.

Which should be the main objective. He has made his case, he doesn't have to keep pushing the limit all the time. Now learn to be a valuable player outside of fighting and trying to make highlight hits that have the danger of crossing the line. He's big and he can skate, he could be a very effective 4th liner even if he played like "the beta Kakko" as @EdJovanovski would say. He doesn't have to be the boogeyman every night, and he needs to realize that he doesn't have to force the issue. I think he has got the message regarding fighting, now needs to get it for making hits as well.

Never, the idea of the polar opposites D pair is cheeks and outdated. Complementary skillsets are good but you can’t have a player in your top 4 who is so inept at the more important half of the game that they drag their teammates down to their level of offense. It’s everyone’s job who is playing big minutes to contribute offensively.

I was trying to follow the TDL GDT and was consistently a couple hours behind due to work and personal obligations. I recognized the live thread issue so I even tried keeping track of post times in the posts so when I'd see a current a time I could just skip the rest of the posts on that page and go to the next page to continue catching up, but I kept getting spoiled at the big moves despite that.

I imagine live threads are fun for during the game GDT with lots of real time posting and not needing to refresh every minute but they're pretty annoying if you're playing catch up. Should be a feature to turn them off, I think there used to be.

I had to turn off live threads. That fixes the problem. Google it there is some optional group you can join to turn them off

Edit here it is

There is def a way to turn off live threads:
Go here: https://forums.hfboards.com/account/join-user-groups

and join the opt-out user group.

That said... you still get posts added to the page when posting new content. I don't think this specific thing can be toggled off.
