Yeah that's another thing that pisses me off. If we win its pretty much the same group + a few others if they were at the game or something talking about the game afterwards. But if we lose, we have certain posters come from out of the dark to complain about something and to cause controversy. Lineup moves, player performance, etc. Kinda annoying, but **** it.

I hope you're not pointing at me... I'm here most games win or lose..

That insecurity aside, I don't care when folks come or go, it's part of the game.. ;)

No. Not you. You're here for both W's and L's. As are most people in this thread tonight. Go back to the previous game after the game was over, and you'll see who I'm talking about, because almost all of their posts are negative.

We won! That's what matters about the game.

Hi! :)

If only Joey got an assist. Was only able to watch the 3rd because I had to pick up relatives at the airport, and then I could watch on a small muted computer screen. His goal was manly, shades of his wrister against San Jose late last season when he lifted a stick so Umby get a pass to him. I was at first just impressed by the backcheck, but the finish on the goal was what are going to get him the big buck. Big win on the road, against a good team. Wish I'd been able to see the fight, but reading the thread on my phone at the airport was part scary part hilarious.

I'm surprised Umby got the scratch, and there were some remarks on here that seemed to be critical of Cam. Anyone care to assess how 13 played?

0 of 8 on the powerplay is really bad.

Let's win tomorrow (today).

I don't understand some of the negativity. I thought this was a damn good game between two damn good teams.

I agree, that was a great game, very entertaining, Montreal is a very good team and we beat them in their building, nothing more needs to be said. 3rd place. And an epic game on tap for tomorrow, hope we don't disappoint what should be an electric crowd!

Just finished watching.

Injuries aside, this team has really matured between the first game in Montreal this year and tonight. Need the PP to be much better. Also I am concerned because Bob doesn't tend to do well when he plays back to back. Huge game tomorrow and I'll be there.

Habs fan here,

congrats on the W, solid team you have there, well coached too I gotta say. 5 on 5 play is very good, Was fun to see (well, would have been better had the Habs won!).

Hope you guys keep your playoff spot, always nice to see "new" teams taking part in it.

The only thing I didnt get in the game is, considering you have a group of decent to good forwards and Wiz bullet on the point, how is it possible to have such an atrocious PP ?! :dunno:

From what I can see, it's all about the passing. It's gotten progressively sloppier over the past little bit. That and just bonehead plays by the point guys not being able to keep the puck in the zone. Richards has tried all different types of combinations, but nothing seems to be working yet. Of course, you also saw our 5v3 on which all we did was pass, pretty well I might add, but then everyone was afraid to shoot. I think if we can get a nice garbage goal on a PP in the next game or two we will rediscover our mojo and be able to use the man advantage more effectively again.

Seems to me this would be a better board if people stopped expressing their views of others and focused upon their substantive comments about the game.

I hope there is a lot of positive stuff on here after tomorrow night's game.

And scheme too. Everything seems designed to get a shot from the point and look for a rebound. Lots of fussing about not shooting, but no one's moving. When Johansen or Letestu are on the half wall, they've got nowhere to go with it except back to the point.

Enh, it's kind of inevitable. Folks develop certain reputations after a while based on those comments, whether they're actually substantive or not, and people start responding to those reputations; it's a human nature thing. That's why I'm the hopelessly naive wordy optimist and you're the curt cynic. ;)

I agree with you. Our PP seems easy to defend against. If we do get a shot, it is from the point and, more than likely, blocked. Hope we get it going tonight.

Its called venting. Some are perfectly content to observe and quietly enjoy success, but feel the need to vocalize their frustrations when failure occurs. I understand what you are saying, but at the same time we have plenty of "glad handling" around here as well. You read this board after a big win and you'd think we have multiple Calder, Norris, Vezina, and Hart finalists on this team. And then there is the bipolar posting.....a loss and sky is falling, a win and we're SCF bound.

This is a good team, and young. I think we have a good shot at 1st round home ice this year, and for years to come. But with those successes will come more painful losses too. This fan base hasn't experienced a 2nd round exit, or losing in the conference finals, and those frustrations will be more intense as the fanbase becomes more vested and engaged in the team.

Becoming a winning franchise won't change that, it will only intesify the extremes.

Last night was a fairly dominating road game for 2/3's of the game. There were some small issues.

1. Mental mistakes by Horton and Foligno. The best chances that Montreal had were because we turned it over for no real reason.
2. The PP was just terrible

Other than that, the only reason Montreal was in the game was Price.

Keep playing like this and we won't have to worry about what the rest of the league is doing. We'll win more games than we lose.

It's always seemed to me that Joey takes a fair number of shots rotating to the midtop of the circle too. We certainly don't run back door plays or anything from behind the goal line other than to kick to the point (which really is respectable).

I think part of he problem is teams have learned how to play against our power play. We have always struggled against teams that have pressured hard. That would really seem to come down to passing and being able to use open ice. It probably reflects on he fact we have so many north-south guys on the team rather than guys that create space (aka forsberg, Kane, etc).

Watching this game was pretty awesome (well and flipping back and forth to check my bracket).

They definitely played like they wanted it tonight and brought itin a really high energy building. Keep the believe train on rolling!

Good post. I'm looking forward to the highs of progressing farther and farther into the playoffs, but I agree that the pain of losses increases with advancement and expectation. Those who follow OSU sports, for example (or Florida, Michigan, USC, anywhere that the expectations are so high that anything short of a national title casts a pall over large swatches of fandom), know how painful the end of a season can be. The longer it takes for the season to be brought to a halt, the harder it can be to accept its finality.

good game...a few dumb mistakes...but thankful the Habs made more... 0-8 on the PP is a little discerning...but we got out with the W in regulation...that's what matters...win pretty, win ugly, JUST WIN
