GDT: Game 69 Canes @ Sharks 7:30

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

He wouldn't but this injury doesn't sound like something that will reliably keep him out of the lineup. He's been dealing with it to a degree all year and he's been available for most of this season. I don't think the team needs Vlasic's sort of help to reach the floor unless he's definitively done.
It'll depend on who else we sign, but right now, we're looking at a cap hit of around $53 million with ten forwards, five defensemen, and a goalie, and none of our RFA's are going to cost much (Mukhamadullin, Kovalenko, and unlikely but possibly Kostin - combined, they'll cost maybe $5-6 million, without Kostin more like $3 million).

We're going to need to spend about $12 million on top of our existing roster just to hit the floor.

The floor looks like it'll be around 70.6 million. The cost for players is rising too. A 53 mil roster with three forward vacancies, three defenseman vacancies, and a goalie vacancy could easily reach the floor when that spending number is 17 million. I don't think they'll have that much of an issue spending to replace Vlasic (and Goodrow for that matter) when we're probably wanting any adds up front that aren't developing players to be top six caliber forwards to play with Smith and RHD's on defense tend to have a premium attached to them anyway.

I just picked up this beer and am drinking it in advance of the game tonight. Good luck...or it doesn't matter?

Edit: Where is my picture?!

Win or lose, with Luca's flowing locks the Sharks are already the cup winners when it comes to Lucious heads of hair.

But in reality...

Hurricanes 5 (Aho, Burns, Slavin, Stankoven 2)
Sharks 1 (Graf)

I have to say, I do NOT remember Burns debuting without a beard for the Sharks. That was it, though, right? Beard to start his second season (and forever beyond) with the Sharks?
