I hope the Bruins win with no injuries. I have no problem cheering for Ottawa and Linus, I cannot bring myself to cheer for the panthers.

As a Canadian, I honestly never think of NHL teams being either "Canadian" or "American" - they are all just hockey clubs with lots of nationalities playing, including a lot of Canadians on those US teams. I cheer against certain clubs for historic reasons. My list is pretty long.

my hope is that Florida crushes toronto's hope's again, with a brad marchand overtime winner in game 7 (round 2 I presume) and then florida procedes to get swept in the conference finals, Marchand comes home in July along with a first round pick

Carolina makes it to the final, only to be waxed up n down by Colorado or Edmonton in 5 games

Well on the plus side, it literally can't get worse than that second period against Tampa...right?

Even with the downfall the Bruins have found a way to bring joy because for some reason, their video game counterparts are now fun as f*** to play with competitively. All the guys they got IRL have high 80s skating in game (Lettieri as well) and can now fly up and down the ice.

Mittelstadt for some reason is a god amongst men in game since i moved him to the wing.

It's been a few months and I'm still not really comfortable with my indifference towards this hockey team. I am not myself. I do think that eventually it will be for the best, as an unhealthy obsession with the Boston Bruins isn't exactly the best personality trait.

It's just weird right now.

I probably will not watch this game and I don't care if they win. It's probably best that they lose. I guess.

This is exactly where I've been last couple of months. Ok, who am I kidding? The whole season.

I'm not crazy, right? This is a strange thing to get used to for other people too?

I think I've gone close to 20 years of not missing a game. If I couldn't watch it live I would record it, go into intense sensory deprivation mode and change schedules around to not be exposed to the score of a game that happened sometimes a couple days ago. All of a sudden with this season, I may have watched a few games start to finish, and a bunch of games I would start a recording off but fast forward through at least half because of how dull this team is. I have straight up not watched at least half of this season now.

Who am I?!

It's bizarre, I can't remember how many times this season I've seen a score pop up on my Alexa screen at home and I go, "huh, there was a game yesterday. Looks like I didn't miss much". Worse yet, for me: Not since TheYearsWeDontMention have I not only missed so many games but have started games and by the 2nd period I just can't give any more emotion to them and switch to Boats n' Hoes or some other mindless drivel to forget how bad we are currently. I hate it.

Yeah, I can't remember missing the amount of games I have this year. I went like 3 straight years without missing a single game. Now it's almost background noise.

There is no way the Bruins can finish last in the Atlantic with a 10-point lead over Buffalo, but the Sabres have three games in hand, and the Bs are going west and have to play in Buffalo in April.

Not likely, but ... never say never

They’re seriously going to just trot out Patrick Brown again, aren’t they?
Probably won't see any changes until they are technically out of playoff contention, if then. But they do a have a few prospects then need to take a longer look at - at the NHL level. They do need a look but the negative is exposing them to this mess. And then there is fan expectations that these prospects should somehow cure what problems Boston currently has, - leave them be until the pressure is off. Right now they are in a playoff push with Providence which is a positive experience for them.

I wouldn't hate for Zadorov to force a beating on somebody again. Seeing Sam Bennett go down was the most fun I've had watching hockey in a long time, and I'm not too proud to admit it.

But yes, then just lose the game
Beating Bennett had meaning, anyone else not so much.

The failure by Sweeney waste the year away. Incredible talent truly. Take such a roster as have been glued to the television for decades to an overnight transition of disaster. Not simply the scoreboard. But execution as well. By management and players.

Difficult to blame anyone for tuning this out.

If Sweeney's vision went according to plan, the large bodied softies with little scoring talent would have been battling out 2-1 wins with scrums and physicality, intimidation.

Unfortunately the large bodied softies are exactly that and unable to change their nature. It became a season of 4 to 1 or worse type lethargic efforts with everyone turning the other cheek aside from Kastelic and Zadorov.

We are spoiled as fans, no question. Even so, there was a massive margin of error to allow for fans to continue watching as usual even with more than expected losses... and somehow management/coaches/players all missed the mark.

Pastrnak on an island. Aging Marchand giving it his all. Geekie the second biggest threat. Brazeau one of the top PP weapons. Coaching a disaster.

Difficult to believe how this year went. Next year had better see improvement, or at least admit it is a true retool/rebuild... and STOP wasting time on Lettieri/Brown/Mitchell types. Let the prospects thrive or fail.... this was a colossal failure by management this season as well.

Why are Beecher and Brown still on the roster, let alone in the starting lineup?

Sacco needs to pair Mittelstadt with Pasta, and Geekie with Lindholm? What is he afraid of? That the Bruins might get a handful of shots on goal in the second period?
Beecher still brings a modicum of value as a defense first faceoff guy on the 4th line.

Brown on the other hand, i can't tell ya why.
