You need to understand the definition of the crease and know the rules. The crease is a vertical entity. The lines on the ice extend upwards. If you catch the puck and hold it in your glove on the crease it's a penalty shot whether it's on the ice or in the air. That's why guys bat the puck away with their glove if it's in the air in the crease. If it's out of the crease in the air a lot of players will grab the puck or catch it and drop in a controlled manner to make a play...
That's a fine interpretation of the rule but it doesn't say that.

Guys bat the puck instead of catching it because that's a penalty anywhere on the ice.

No three-game winning streak since November. That is when the season was lost. The way the league is now, you need multiple multi-game winning streaks to make the playoffs.
