Unfortunately the price of loving someone is that we open ourselves to hurt when they have to leave us. It will never be the same, but we'll carry on with her in our hearts. I'm sure the same can be said for your buddy. RIP

It's been 10 months and I am ok but my sister in law is still struggling mightily. Being married over 40 years has made it difficult for her to move on.

I'm sorry to hear. I'm very concerned for my father in law. He's going to have a really hard time moving forward, and we live across the country. Uncharted territory for him and one can't just assume he'll be okay y'know?
