Personally, I'd rather see Cam than either Tropp or Comeau, but I'll be delighted if their play shows that Richards made the right call. I'm in 118, tonight, contributing my powerful psychic energy, if not much actual noise, to the effort!

I don't get why Cam got scratched again so soon. Specially versus a porous D-corps like the Canes'.

The boys should have this one in the bag but hopefully they don't act that way.

I don't understand the cam scratching. I'm not a coach, but he seems to be committed to defense and I always notice him back checking and blocking shots. (and he also seems to score goals :p)

Semin is the one we have to worry about, leads the league in goals since the break.

Jordan Staal has been a complete bust for them.

Yep. This isn't some vendetta Richards has with Atkinson. He wants to be in the best possible position to win games.

What if Atkimov had scored one goal since Jan. 30th?

I'm not happy about it either but given that the team hasn't exactly suffered with him out of the lineup, I'll put my outrage on hold. Or until Richards decides we need the 1.7 millon dollar 4th liner that hasn't played since November in the lineup.

The "heavy" thing makes sense and is likely. I think he is lower on the "proficient in his own end" scale as well.

That said, I think there's some "player development" going on here too. I don't know if it's the proper strategy, but I think it's a strategy.

Plenty of options there before you get to Tropp, especially for the first three, without Cam. Can't dress a guy just in case the game gets to a shootout that goes 5-6 deep.

While I agree he should play, and has the talent to play and be a 25+ goal scorer, he just doesn't have it right now and its that time of year when the bodies will be banging. I would rather have Comeau sit and play Cam, but I understand the decision.

I hope so, I'm a little tired of the same backhand forehand five hole shot he always does.

We may have an issue with Cam in the offseason.
