GDT: Game 67: Sens vs Habs, Tuesday March 18th - 7 PM EDT | TSN2, RDS

Team 1200 put up a poll about Ottawa's biggsst rival and Montreal was slightly winning over Toronto. 51-49

I'm honestly surprised. I figured Montreal would be second, so like 70-30 Toronto.

Needless to say, they will be engaged

Little brother syndrome. They love thinking about us and we don’t ever think about them.

I was in Ottawa this past weekend and still think the city is nicer than many give it credit for. On the other hand, I think their team is shakier than given credit for. Ottawa has progressed to a lower-rung playoff team, but how much better are they likely to get? Cozens was a good add, but overall this looks like a good-not-great/young-but-not-that young roster that will run out of road before they get close to contending.

By comparison, Montreal's much further along with a younger roster and much better prospects than the Sens.

-It's against Ottawa our direct rival and one of the hottest teams in the league.
-We pull them closer to the pack.
-We end their 6 game winning streak.
-We maintain our momentum.
-We continue to justify our Captain's reason for wanting to keep the group intact.
-We show we are clutch in the big moments.

Do I need to go on?
While there may be more important games down the road winning this one only increases those odds. Not being sellers changed the topography this is not only about this season it's about the future. Showing we can win these games is everything.
Did not realize some are placing so much importance on this game. I'm with the guys in my league where it would be great to beat Ottawa but not the end of the world if they don't considering that Montreal is not close to having the lineup that will take the next step to be more competitive and better rounded. Montreal is missing pieces and does not even have a 2 c currently, seems like pretty lofty expectations. I still play regularly and have coached in the past and would not put unnecessary pressure on the players and only would expect their best effort and hope they don't collectively need the Heimlich maneuver like Montreal did against Seattle.

Definitely not a must win game or anything, but any wins we can pick up again Ottawa/Columbus/Detroit/Rangers/Isles helps the cause in a big way. The more we can either separate from the back or claw these guys back at all will go in our favour.

Realistically our race is for WC2 and Ottawa has pulled away in WC1. You're not wrong in that, making the playoffs or not, we're probably not doing anything impactful but the game IS big in regards to this team's hope in making the playoffs.

For sure playoff hockey is exciting and games that might determine who gets in is.

If anyone wants a laugh, go read the Senaturd's GDT. They think they are in our heads and that we only talk about X. Some are even talking about Tkachuk and X as if they don't remember that p***y running away from X.

Yeah, there was no way he sat for one game with a wrist injury and then was perfectly fine. Lol

Seattle ate up our penalty kill without him & the roster with both Pezz & Roy in was complete crap. We need him to play just for his defensive game.

He has a wrist injury, and he can't shoot.

That really depends on Stutzle, Sanderson & Tkachuk. They're 23, 22 & 25, respectively. Stutzle can definitely get better. He's still super young. They've taken that next step of not choking down the stretch, at least.
