GDT: GAME 67 | Senators @ Canadiens | Playing with the Big Boys Now Part 1 Edition | Tue Mar 18 2025, 7PM | TSN2, TSN5, RDS

Brady is playing with a nagging injury that is hampering him. Our top line has been less noticeable lately.

I agree but what I’m saying is overall I’m not worried for them.

They’ve been less noticeable in the last few games but Brady has like 6 goals in his last 10 games and Stutzle just had a 14 game point streak end last week. They’ll bounce back.

He definitely is. I was at the Boston game sitting 4 rows behind the Sens bench and could clearly see him favouring his leg/hip. His shifts were noticeably shorter than his line-mates ( more than usual) and didn't play the last couple of minutes.

lol I didn't even know it finished 6-3 as I cut the game at 5-3

I hope they really enjoyed giving up 2 empty net goals.

3-0 vs Toronto this season, 9-3 in goals scored

0-3 vs Montreal this season, 6-15 in goals scored...

I know Quebec Sens fans are in minority but that sucks

Really appreciate the veteran additions. Both perron and amadio have been good for a stretch now. They're showing the rest what it takes at this time of year. If the perron line didn't look so good, I'd wanna switch giroux and perron. Giroux couldn't keep up last night. Brady seems to be nursing something and Timmy looks a little Marner-esque.

Montreal was the better team but the Sens could have eked it out but they needed to be on their toes in the 3rd and they weren't
I thought their start was a bit sleepy for a game us fans were pumped for. I thought our forecheck was no where near as effective as it has been recently.

the Hutson goal (2-2).. was a nice shot but I would have liked a positional save there.. maybe I'm asking too much
3-3 goal was a poor clear from Hamonic. Very Avoidable
4-3 PP goal rebound control could have been a little better on a good save ; Suzuki sneaks in behind Hamonic to bury he loose puck.

Still the Sens just did not do enough in the 3rd to win .. they kept handing the puck back to the habs and were forced to defend constantly.

Hats off the the Habs who were too much for the Sens in the 3rd and seemed more ready for a battle from the start

On to Thursday facing the Avs to try to not make it 2L in a row.

Tkachuk had a couple good scoring chances off the rush but was not in this what should have been a highly emotional game.
Pinto maybe had the best missed chance for us.
Cozens had a good chance he created off the rush.
Gaudette still sucks

This was not our Stanley cup but the Sens are our biggest rival these days.
Big win for sure, it was essentially like a playoff game. These comments are just sour grapes on our side, MTL deserved it and their rebuild has fast tracked way better than ours (funny how management changes affects things).

Enjoy the win but we’re kicking your asses next game

Brady seems even less noticeable lately though. He has 0 goals in the last 3 games, and 1 goal in the last 5. So, maybe the injury is bothering him more just recently? Who knows?

When we get into the playoffs, the Senators will need to be at their highest level and possibly move it up a notch to be successful.

Brady was never the best skater but it looks like he is labouring out there when moving on the ice.

Been saying it for awhile but our man marking in the Dzone is weak. Too many open looks because we let forwards and dmen roam free. Too much puck focus and not knowing where the danger is coming from on the opposition attack.

Its been evident for a while now but Ullmark has been pretty stellar for us and we have found a way to score our way to wins.

I am still baffled about that first goal and the missing goalie stick.....no icing? No player giving their own stick. WTH, were they that frazzled?
I was saying out loud "ice it" and then tried to explain to my 5 year old what I meant after the goal... it was so annoying. The stick was too far to retrieve, ice the damn puck and take the D-zone draw.

If the Habs goalie was switched on, he would negate the icing by playing the puck to keep it in play. But we will never know.

The guys have reverted back to DJ smith defence

1. Amadio is arguably our best defensive forward.

2. Stützle PKed under DJ Smith and looked like a real threat doing so.

3. Zetterlund is saddled with 2 plugs on the 4th line playing 10mins/night. If Green won't elevate him, why not find him some minutes on the PK, given the fact that the current alternative is Highmore, who has the skills and hockey sense of an amoeba.

It's not an options issues. It's coaching.
Hutson proved that Amadio is not our "best defensive forward"!

I said this in the Green thread but I am pretty sure they use one right handed forward and one left handed forward on the PK together on purpose if you look at the pairings all year.

I think that has sort of thrown off the PK because we replaced Norris with Cozens. Otherwise I am pretty sure Green would have slotted in Cozens for Norris and called it a day.

So if you use that logic, Stützle and Highmore are the only real options to PK with Giroux since Greig-Pinto make up the second pair. I don’t think it’s that crazy for Green to not want to utilize Timmy there and instead save him for offensive opportunities.

Kinda think this one is on Staios considering he traded Norris, Ostapchuk and Gregor all in one day, three left handed PKers. Not saying he shouldn’t have done it but Green wasn’t left with an ideal situation there.
I have not seen any stats that prove a PK is better because it uses 1 RH and 1 LH forward. If there are such stats I would like to see them.
