GDT: GAME 67 | Senators @ Canadiens | Playing with the Big Boys Now Part 1 Edition | Tue Mar 18 2025, 7PM | TSN2, TSN5, RDS

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

idk the avs legitimately don't have depth this season,
We just got fed by the Montreal Canadians

The Detroit redwings had like 30 shots in one period against us.

And the bruins who are tanking gave us the run around while we leaked chances to them.

We are playing poorly Toronto game aside.

We’ve had soft goals go in for us and not many bad goals go in against us.

As soon as that turns this is primed for a massive collapse

We didn’t even look good against Philly.

The Boston game swayman seemed to make the conscious decision that he wanted to be pulled lol

Probably better for us. We have a better chance against Washington and if we somehow make round 2, against the Canes or Devils.
Yeah the Metro bracket is a lot more appealing than the nightmare that is the Atlantic. Good teams there but it’s really not even close, especially with NJ losing Hughes and Hamilton.

Still I don’t want to get in by crawling.

My point it his “playoff” numbers might just be his “high pressure” numbers.

Bruins were always comfortably in the pos.

But again the last 6 games were high pressure games? Maybe even higher pressure because we didn’t have a comfortable lead? After this loss our playoff chances are at 95%. Is that super duper high pressure? Seems like kind of a not important game in terms of our odds to make the postseason?

The Canadiens and latter half of the Red Wings game, you have a point. We need to stop thinking the Bruins dominated us after we took a massive lead, we played a textbook defend the lead well situation against them. Overall in our win streak, we've played well with room for improvement.

Those odds are garbage

These are high pressure games

Text book defence isn’t giving the other team a wide open net up 4-2 lol. I promise that isn’t the defence they drew up.

The only thing I'm upset about is blowing a potential Travis Hamonic GWG. Otherwise, our playoff chances have barely budged.

News flash every team gives up a high quality chance, when we factor the entirety of the latter half of the Bruins game, we absolutely played like what a typical playoff team would play like if they're up, limiting quality chances and at the moment we allow it, make sure the goalie sees it. Winnipeg has given up high quality one-timers, so has Vegas, etc. Heck, did you see Vegas getting embarrassed by Albert Johansson of all players?

It looks like it slightly hit off Sanderson.

Oh well, time to move on. Avs will be tough but we’re pretty good at home and they’re playing back to back on the road. I’m going to the game, hopefully it’s not a trainwreck.
Most importantly, Avs are a very top heavy team. Even though the Habs are a worse team clearly, Habs have a stronger bottom 6 than the Avs, and having home advantage makes that more important than people realize.
