Habs did just take the Rangers and Canes to a shootout. St. Louis has their battered lineup playing hard.

Let’s hope that was just a stinger for Nico.

Big game tomorrow. Regulation win ties us with Carolina. Hope the Rock is loud!

I don't think the Habs and the Coyotes are that far off, they have pieces on their roster. It's just the depth that's utterly abysmal. Habs also have those two firsts this year which if they're lucky enough for the Panthers to miss, could flip them for a proven player right now.

Put Haula back with Hughes, it’s our only hope.
Something is wrong with Hughes, and it’s not his legs. Arm, wrist, shoulder is my guess. He’s getting the puck poked off his stick a lot, it looks like the strength on the stick may be the difference. Still that line is contributing to possession and creating a bit.

Will the bitching somehow stop with the win?

I hope this can momentarily bring something resembling slight joy to some posters tonight:

No........ I'm really not happy that the Jackets lost...... Keep Bedard the f*** away from there!

The Sharks have managed to potentially fall below them though. Things have been very rough for them in the post-Timo era. They did get an OT win though over the USS Manitoba and Capt Bowness, who are currently begging Calgary and the Nashville Hiney Heads to rob them of their life boats before the ship goes completely under.

First, Montreal plays an amazing system. I really think Martin St Louis is the best an brightest young coach in the game.

Very sloppy game. Hughes and Meier look lost with one another. To make things worse, Hughes look pretty bad since the injury which leads me to believe he is playing with an injury.

Bratt is just so undisciplined with the puck. Sure he is talented and makes great plays but winning teams don't allow their players to do this. You would think being dropped to the 3rd would send a message, I wouldn't mind him sitting a game to really make a point and light a fire.

Schmid is the starter, Ruff may not know it yet but after tomorrow he may.

Dont let these stats fool you fellas. If we play them ten times, they might win 9 but not tonight. Tonight the 24 x Cup winner juggernaut known as the Canadiens de Montréal simply let us have this game. If they ever turned it on, we wouldve been ran out of the building. We keep playing like this, its only a matter of time before the Ls start piling up. /s

Schmid with .927 + 1.91 numbers. Goalie of our future?
Maybe.......

But Blackwood taught me not to get too excited about goalies that break onto the scene this strong.

Not that this was really him breaking onto the scene, he did that last year and struggled, but so far so good this year and his AHL play has been decent and considerably better than Blackwood's, as well as the other goalies that have come through our system in the last decade.
