Hi everyone,

Congratulations on what looks like a great TDL!

As a Jets fan I’ve watched Copp a lot and, although streaky as a scorer, he always has a strong work ethic and intense as hell, being able to move up & down from Top Line to making a 3rd line better.

I‘ll miss him in Winnipeg but happy he found a good home for the rest of the Season.

Whenever he scored I’d use this GIF:

Best of luck tonight and the rest of the way,

Cheers

Schneider "regression" is overrated. He took 2 penalties. One was a joke. He has been the same guy.

The only problem I have with Schneider is I thought he would be much more physical . He has slowed down in that regard . If him and Miller could pick up that physical pace for us in the playoffs.....Braun might not see much ice . I guess it is all about feeling comfortable and getting to know the tendencies of the opposition and that physical part of his game will hopefully appear at some point . A few games to watch is OK...he is only 20 .

Obviously I hope we don't take any penalties, but it'll be worth keeping an eye on PK usage tonight.

At forward, Copp and Motte will probably both be used. Who gets to pair with Goodrow(In Rooney/McKegg's usual spot) will be telling. My bet is on Copp. Then likely Mika-Kreider followed by Strome Motte.

For defense, we've got 6 guys there now with decent NHL PK experience. Miller has the least of any of them and he's still been being used pretty regularly this year. I really hope we see Fox start to get less of those assignments.

Good old fashioned line brawl...personally I always liked the pre-game fights back in the day ....Habs and Flyers had a good one one time . The golden years for rough and tumble firewagon hockey . Rinks were full and nobody complained about a scrap or two or three .
A scrap or two on the ice AND in the stands.

Schneider is 20 folks

He's gotten a real good look and will continue to get time.

The right move is to put the two vets together because thats what they will roll with in the playoffs. They will be a PK pair and it will allow them to manage the other two pairings time, specifically Fox and Lindgren. They may not need to PK at all anymore.

Schneider will likely get a look in the playoffs at some point and will be challenged right away, and then the fans will complain when he struggles.

Its the right move for the team.

Scneider has struggled but so has Nemeth, that's the problem.

For those questioning Schneider sitting, IMO not sure I'd put Braun in his first game with a new team and system, with a young rookie right off the hop. I'm probably one of Schneider's biggest supporters and promoters lol.

That said, Schneider isn't regressing, he hasn't been a tire fire, he's made some mistakes like they all do (albeit not many, considering) and we have to remember - he's still very fresh. Also could use the break from carrying Nemeth around. ;) (I do think Schneider could take a breather for a game to help Braun, however - just A game lol)

Few more practices etc where Schneider and Braun get some repetitions in and we should be golden.

I'm really excited to see the squad - please freight train these devils.

No need to rush Schneids. He's 20. He had a nice run of games. Frankly, I would sit him down, help him process what went well and what still needs work, and then send him down to Hartford to do some of that work on the top pair. Bring him back up for the playoffs to get a bit of that atmosphere.

I remember having to run out the Emergency fire doors in Newmarket rink Ontario one night during a game and a Beukeboom fight . I guess we might have been leaning on the glass or bench and doing our fair share of heckling after Beukeboom had cleaned somebody in a scrap. I remember Beuk coming into where I was working the next day and talking about the other teams players being in the stands .....I loved the Tier Two Jr games....always intense and the players worked hard and were full of piss and vinegar . Beuk was all of 15 or 16 at that point and living and playing away from home on his way to the NHL.....I hated seeing him hurt by that gutless puke in LA that night .

There is also some video on the web of a donnybrook involving Turk's old Summerside jr club and Halifax...it was WILD . Turk's bro got suspended for shoving an official that game . Crazy times....
