I actually liked Muzzin last night, he got shell by Buff but Doughty also took a big hit from trouba. Hits happen.
The goal was more Doughty mistake than Muzzin (man it sounds like I am ragging on drew).
I guess I was hard pressed to find fault in anyone's game last night. I hope that it continues at Rexall. I will be there!!

Just out of curiosity, how tough is it to get a ticket in Edmonton these days?

Unfortunately, unless Dean can trade up the Kings probably won't have a high pick for a while. So it is either trade for one (cost you plenty) or get one via UFA and most guys like Vlassic never hit the market as their teams see their value and lock them up.

The best course of action right now is to develop what we have.

Well the Kings draft well enough in the second round, they may hit pay dirt on a Defender in the near future.

Although it would take a while to develop the guy, unless his IQ is off the charts.

Gravel I think will be a top pairing guy.

at this rate all i would like to see is Alec get in the line up and play consistently. to revert back to the 5+, 10+ games in row scratches didn't do him any good. ultimately it did the team no good either, because when he did get in he wasn't at 100% game speed. it showed.

i'm not saying throw him up top with DD for 20+ TOI per game. put him out there occasionally, or situational when they need to match opponents speed or forwards with two strong skating D men.

he played his best in 2012 when he was getting 3rd line minutes consistently. this should be what Stevens and Sutter should be trying to accomplish.

i would like to see him get some PP time with both units. i think he is one of LA's best options to QB the PP. he makes quick decisions, pass good passing skills and relies on his wrist shot instead of his slapper. if there is one weakness in DD's game it his inability to QB the PP. i'm not saying Alec is better, just that he has a skillset that would fit better in that role.

I agree with Face Wash, it's been great watching the highlight videos and realizing Gaborik isn't just a floaty sniper, he actively gets to the dirty areas for rebounds and tips and quick shots. That clip of every one of his 40+ goals with the Rangers is like 90% in-close cleanup. That, and we saw last night the separation he gains with his speed, he nearly had that tap-in back door with Kopitar, something I haven't seen this team do in ages. New dimension. Love it.

And if you're wondering why the Rangers brought him to New York...

Hank needed a neck brace after.

NOTE: Notice who assisted on his first goal. :(
NOTE #2: Even these goals were all scored in dirty areas.
