Linus was incredible. We needed this from him. It came at the right time. What a performance. That save on Raymond before the PP was everything.

But 2 players stood out in a very bad way.

1. Thomas Chabot: I watched the game very closely, he was very, very poor. Made a couple breakouts but he looked soft, he fumbled it several times, and was not as engaged as the rest of the D. A few times he could have clearly made a play to get the puck but looked like it was shinny. Was a really poor performance by Chabot. However, a lot of it was post the hit by the ref, not sure if that was a factor.

2. Batherson. He was neutralized as easy as ABC. Barely did anything with the puck and the D had the easiest time retrieving it whenever it came near him. However, to be effective he needs speed. Perron 5on5 was not that great at all. So I'll also include Perron here but he's just too high up the lineup.

The defense was also peppered several times but that is to be expected by a very desperate Wings team.

Chabot sucked because the linesman gave him a concussion.

Happy with the win but not enjoyable to watch.

During the game. my impression was that Ottawa was making a ton of mistakes and Detroit was hardly making any but they had 19 giveaways to Ottawa's 11. I also thought we didn't win nearly enough faceoffs but again it was lopsided in our favor: 62% to 37%.

I didn't like the effort from some of our guys but you do have to give Detroit some credit; they played hard like their lives depended on it. They were coming at us in waves. My nervous system could barely handle it.

Chabot just isn't skating. What's up with him? He hardly ever carries the puck up the ice and he's just coasting around like a low skilled, stay at home defensive D. And my other beef is with Zub. I know this board loves him but good lord, on that final play where the Wings score the no goal, Zub pushes the puck right to the middle giving Raymond the shot on net. One more half second, and the game is tied.

Cozens was one of our best forwards.. if not our best on the night. Ullmark saved our bacon.

Even though the Wings were clearly the better team, it wasn't a complete domination:

This was us on Saturday, a domination:

Cozens had a few big time individual rushes that resulted into A chance scoring plays. Was really impressed. Also handled the body beautifully and was one of the few players that was able to separate man from puck. He was also very fast, lmao.

He is fast. But lots of fast players can lose the pace in an intense game.

Your player judgement is as accurate as Galchenyuks field sobriety test.
Buffalo traded him for a seemingly bad contract.

Though game for the Chabot/Jensen duo
Watch Matinpalo come out for hamonik tomorrow ...

Very very very accurate and matches the eye test.

Jensen was very good but that's how bad Chabot was. Jensen was playing defense for 2 people essentially. Batherson was non factor offensively and was doing cardio defensively. Also thought Zub didn't play the best second half. A lot of swatting.

But Red Wings were very desperate. Almost like a season-crushing defeat. Makes sense.

Also stutzle had the puck in the crease with an empty net and didn’t register a shot.

Just want to point that out for the elite offensive talent crowd

Batherson is what he is at this point.

Can Chicago make the playoffs. If we play them in a series batherson will go off

They should call this the Ullmark-o-meter

Kind of a bad goal to give up to Raymond

DeBrincat played like his first-borne was on the line. Never saw that passion from him here, lol. Made it all the more sweeter to defeat him where he wanted to go play. Waste man.

Brother you're always negative.

You will probably complain when the Sens win the cup
