#4 is the biggest point. Net front is even more important in the playoffs, and we didn't compete for it in their end and gave it up too easy in our end, both this game and OTT- if people are blaming Shesterkin for being down 1-0, they shoudl just stop watching hockey now. It's not your sport, bro.
- Chytil needs to be better there. Just puck watching, not marking anything.
- Kakko had a terrible period. Tentative stuff everywhere. Against a tougher, bigger team like the Bs, he, all of players needs to play fast and hard and aggressive. We need him to use his size. His first period was deeply frustrating to watch. Laffy is the only one going full speed on that line right now.
- netfront. netfront. netfront. can't win if you can't control the inside. Or at least compete there. We contested ours well at times, but we always give up a bunch of those chances. You can have all the elite talent in the world, if you can't win the netfront, you can't win NHL games with any consistency.
- I am withholding my judgement of this team construction until everyone is back in the lineup and Kane feels more adjusted. But if we are this soft going into the playoffs... oof. I keep having Petr Nedved flashbacks.
what about it is harping? Dude needs to use his body. He is supposed to be a "power" forward.I can't believe people are still harping on this after all these years.
my god the rewriting of history on that by mtl fans and media which somehow took over as the leaguewide narrative. you have to be deranged to see that play and think its intentional....the play is obvious enough and when you consider the context its even crazier to think hed waste a chance to score to slide into priceThe league pretty much neutered him after the Carey Price incident.
The defensemen have been fine today, that's a hard play to stop for any goalie, coming from behind the net to a wide open guy. Shesterkin has been average lately but that's way too high danger of a chance to be giving up and expecting and more than a 50/50 chance of saving.I get it, but playing with 5 D doesn't help. We played an ALMOST perfect period defensively. The ONE chance they give up isn't even unstoppable (not a softy I'll agree) and our goalie gives the goal up. How about making ONE big save this season? Just one.
"What are you doing?! You said you wouldn't kill anyone!"There is no bathroom!
wait... you're blaming that sequence on Lafreniere? LOLHe turned it over in the neutral zone because Spongebob skated past it on his way to the Krusty Krab
yea the play on the pk was a disaster. i just thought he was far from our worst player overall. couple lines have been completely invisible altogetherHe blew 2 or 3 chances to clear the puck out of the zone, one directly leading to a Pasternak scoring chance. Can't hold on to his equipment to boot, dropping his glove on one shift, his stick on another.. He needs to be better coming out in the 2nd.
