This team has been hard to watch the last 3 of 4 games. Really hard to watch.
I said it in another thread but I 100% believe this team is deflated as f*** post deadline.

Devon Toews even did an interview where he said guys in that room were not expecting anyone to leave, rather they expected reinforcements to arrive to strengthen the team. Only guy who shows up is Lars Eller.

That is a big time morale hit. It's basically MacFarland failing them. The players aren't stupid.

If the Avs manage to get their heads out of their ass and get on a roll to end the season I think they find a way to win the cup. More likely they continue their incredibly inconsistent play
First part I agree with. Second part you’re developing symptoms from drinking the thread’s Kool-aid.

True. Looks like it's all in their head. Most cup winners can flip a switch and turn around horrific underlying metrics just by trying harder.

Chris MacFarland really put his own stamp on this team huh. Committed $10.5mil to two bottom pair D who are always injured, ignored the 2C position entirely, and went shopping at the bottom of the bargain bin at the deadline.

No idea how anyone could defend it.

it would honestly explain Mikkos body language since the deadline lol. Hes been angry for no reason. Maybe he was expecting some help.

This team doesn’t look like a cup winning team this year. Injuries has hurt them, but not having 2C and Landeskog potentially not coming back or even if he comes back, how effective is he gonna be? I think they don’t make it passed 2nd round this year

When you only have 8 players playing where they should in the lineup (Lehky, Mack , Nuke , Mikko , Cale , Toews , Byram , Girard ) you’re going to have problems. The rest should all be moved down the lineup but we don’t have the horses. 0-3-1 in the last 4 games against playoff teams.

I think it's safe to say that it's not just some fans who weren't happy. Players know we still have our first pick and cap space.

Anyways, the work ethic sucked tonight because they constantly lost battles and the thinking sucked because they made mistake after mistake.

That said, this was already a predicted loss IMO. Already said Avs would go 1-1-1 this week.

They are now 14-12-6 vs current playoff teams. Truly horrible.

Plenty have tried on this board. It's pretty impressive to watch.
