I disagree but whatever. I don’t think running the guys to the ground was the right move. A 3rd for Cody Glass doesn’t kill the rebuild for example.
But the thing is that they need to draft around 10 or better if it’s possible. Adding mid players like Glass won’t do anything but help being ‘’mediocre’’.

Slafkovsky plays the game like me trying to sneakily prepare a snack when everyone is asleep.

100% but having a team that sucks, but they get to make a bunch of money and ne with their friends isn't something anybody wants.

The players have to realize that people will get traded. Players will be, or should be bought out.

There will be change.

Dvorak isn't coming back.
Savard probably isn't coming back.
Armia kind of hoping he isn't back just because the Habs need to switch things up.

There will be turnover, it's coming, now just wasn't the right time, far too cost prohibitive and disrupting.

He has an elite shot, that’s about it.
He has great hands and he can make some great passes too. I was very impressed by his first few games back.

However, since his slump it's been back to old Laine. Lazy, uninspired, poor defensively, cries to the media and takes games off at the slightest little boo boo. I'm hoping this is temporary but he isn't a player who I'm giving the benefit of the doubt having followed him since his draft year.

Both teams are playing a tight Defensive playoff style of not letting anyone beat them on the inside and compress the 5man in front of the net under pressure.

Flames shows they are more comfortable on that style. Forcing the plays and challenging these 1on1 from the outside to the inside.

Mtl tried to make plays from the outside all period long. They gotta realise that they have to buldozer in and crash the net, score these ugly goals.

I expect Marty to realise that and adjust for the 2nd period. Keep pucks low 1feet off the ground, crash the net.

You’re right he’s decent at passing when he wants to. But his best talent is the shot

Prevent defense from the MSL lead Canadiens. One guy forechecking, 4 guys plugging the middle, and still gave up half a dozen strong scoring chances. Good lord that was an awful first period.

The only forward that had a shot on net was Cole Caufield….. and that made up 25 percent of the shot total!!

Dobes was great. Everyone else was awful.

The Flames travelled all day yesterday after taking a complete shitkicking on their eastern road trip, so Marty’s game plan is to not try to provide any offense at all… I just don’t understand.

yeah, the PPG streak was fun, now I'm not so sure he should re-sign. unless it's on the cheap

Shitty 1st period but holy smokes there's a a lot of negativity in here. Apparently the team is is the worst NHL team ever assembled, management are morons and the coaches who have this historically awful team a hair away from a playoff spot is also somehow the worst coaching staff ever assembled.

Some of you need a hug to relieve some bottled up tension.

Marner with 2 goals in the 1st. He must be pissed off that the Leafs apparently asked him to waive his no move to be traded to the Canes for Rantanen. If true, (which it probably isn't) that must make him feel really wanted by his team. :)
Friedman and Johnston have both reported it. Marner's team turned down negotiating a new contract earlier in the year.

I just can't see them sleeping for another period. MSL will keep shuffling around the lines hopefully. Easiest thing to do in my opinion is to make Gallagher and pizzetta the fourth line wingers and depending on whether Beck is playing well, have Dvorak or Beck as the center.

But the Suzuki line is a lock, and Evans-Armia can play with Heineman and Anderson and Newhook can try for rushes with Whoever is playing better between dvo and Beck.
