Meh to be honest Rangers shouldnt be a goal .Nhl never allowed a goal after whistle why is different in this case? The puck slipped through at the same time as the whistle but wasn't in at that point.

The goal is frustrating but the rule has been around for a while now, and this is the exact scenario it is intended for, that should be a good goal, the only thing that would have prevented it is a bad choice by a ref to stop play early.

Yes, Ottawa the continuity rule simply means that any time it is even close, Ottawa will get EFF'ed every time. The continuity rule also specifies that NHL fave teams (TOR, MTL, NYC, PIT, LV) will always get the benefit of the call or their fans get to vote democratically on which way the calls go. Ok, I am paranoid and bitter... don't give a shit!

They would never allow a goal that is slowly going into a empty netter from the other side of the ring if the whistle was blown before (for what ever reason : injury , fight or whatever)

I think they cut some stuff out. It sounds like they have to confirm it with central registry first, and then they call whoever the manage is.

I can almost imagine how the Dorion thing happened now. Dorion, locking the door, and sending Peter MacTavish on a run to photocopy some papers so that he misses the trade call.
