He's going to play center until Dach (or Monahan) is back. Then probably moved to the bottom 6 wing. It's not like Pezz/Pitlick/Belzile have more future with the team than he does anyhow.

Drouin will play with Dvorak and Hoffman mostly likely or take Pitlick spot with Dach depending how awful one is playing that day. Nobody needs to sit until Farrell is signed or Gallagher managed to get out of that boot or Armia heals of whatever he has.

I can't believe I'm getting pushback on Drouin -- this is what you get in this place, 6 years of failure and even when the Habs have nothing to gain from him being given minutes, he's still supposed to get some kind of special treatment.

With Barron out there isn't a 7D option for now.

We'll agree to disagree on why Drouin was gifted that plum assignment. I think it has to do with his bum wrists and as a centreman he wouldn't have to rely on his shot as much but mainly distribute. And of course, on account of the trading deadline.

I'm really hoping the Habs use the remaining games on players that they actually need to evaluate or for them to gain more experience, with a view toward next season.
