The premise that player and fanbase moral is at all time lows is a false one to me. This is normal rebuilding team losing sort of shit and we have to let the kids we're trying to build around experience it and get better. People, including any players that feel similarly, need to exercise patience.
Even with only 25% vision in his damaged eye, go look at Berards comeback season stats with the NYI.I’d hope so Berard only had one eye
Thats the frustrating thing with this guy, one game he looks brilliant, then 5 games terrible......Walman can't handle the puck to save his life lately. Mukhamadullin was the best defenseman for us tonight IMO.
And voicing that concern IS an issue of not being patient. That sort of issue is only going to show itself or not next year and not now this season because this is a year one of a new team sort of season. The plan this entire time was to improve on whatever this year resulted with because we're building around two rookies and we needed to see what they had. You're jumping the gun on this sort of concern, imo, and that seems like being impatient with a young team. It's one thing to be patient. What I'm saying is the Sharks better be careful not to be stuck in the same pattern every year. They have to show improvement next year. Another year of going for the #1 pick might end trying patience of many many people.
If the Sharks win the first overall pick again this year (thanks to the new rules), they won’t be able to win it again until 2029 since teams can only get the top pick twice in a five-year span. It's one thing to be patient. Schaefer-Ekbladanywho, kids were pretty good. mukh and smith look like NHLers. i feel like walman, liljegren, ferraro, and mukh could be a solid bottom 4 on an average team. we really need 2x solid defensive puck movers to build out a competent defense but it's getting closer. kinda the same situation up front. we could really use a good top 6 forward that can win board plays reliably and we could have a solid top 9. It's just unfortunate that we don't have replacement level for those roles right now.
Nope, if we finish last we can still have another potentially 2 lottery wins (if we don't finish last again)If the Sharks win the first overall pick again this year (thanks to the new rules), they won’t be able to win it again until 2029 since teams can only get the top pick twice in a five-year span.
This is not accurate. The rule is that the lottery win has to move them up the draft for it to count against the two in five year limit. If the Sharks finish last and win the lottery again, they still won't have any lottery win count against the limit. If the Sharks win the first overall pick again this year (thanks to the new rules), they won’t be able to win it again until 2029 since teams can only get the top pick twice in a five-year span.

Oof, giving Schaefer top-pairing minutes and Mukhamadullin 2nd-pair minutes seems dangerous.Schaefer-Ekblad
Walman-Mukhamadullin
Ferraro-Liljegren
That'll do, pig?
Walman obviously hasn't been very good lately, but I just can't be mad at him when he's been asked to do way more than he's capable of. Put him in a proper role (2nd pairing, PP2) and I think he would do just fine.
Hmmm… I’d take at least one more win than last season….The sky isn't falling
We were one of the worst teams of all time a year ago, anyone who expected a huge boost in the win column was being unrealistic
As much as no one wants to accept that luck is a factor in sports, the fact that we've been so many one goal games so late in the frame means we're a MUCH better team than we were last year, we're just losing all the coin flips, but our most important players are all children so they don't know how to make the most of those high-leverage situations yet, that will come with experience
If anything, we're getting GOOD luck to lose on so many coin flips, we could have easily won 5 more games this year and have come away with 10 more points and be looking at the 4th-6th pick instead of 1st-3rd
I'm not worried about morale, the results won't be here next year either, and that's still fine
Our franchise cornerstones will be 23, 23, 20, 19 and 18 years old, the present is not our time, the hashtag is #theFUTUREisteal for a reason
Not anymore dangerous then giving walman top pairing and Ferraro 2nd pairing minutes.Oof, giving Schaefer top-pairing minutes and Mukhamadullin 2nd-pair minutes seems dangerous.
I'm fine if it is dangerous to the team, but not if it hurts a player's development. Not anymore dangerous then giving walman top pairing and Ferraro 2nd pairing minutes.
Just having walman and Ferraro playing so much hurts the development of the rookies. So i would rather the rookies learn the hard way like smith and celebrini are having to do this year.I'm fine if it is dangerous to the team, but not if it hurts a player's development.
I'm hoping the Sens actually make the post season so we can get more entertaining Tkachuk/Tkachuk action and with Brady coming back and probably will be motivated, this will probably be another loss.
