Glad we win, but what is this brand of hockey we’ve been playing? It won’t cut it down the stretch.

Rough game for Sandy and Ullmark. Bath looked dangerous alll night.

Donato is obviously having a career year on a team that he's getting more opportunities, but he also has the most 5on5 points on the Hawks and was the only one outside of their fourth line that even created chances. Like Bedard was shut down sure, but he was pretty much invisible.

I'm worried we'll want to sign whoever we trade for, especially if we are giving up a high pick. Donato doesn't have the track record to feel confident he can maintain this pace, unless he's looking for 3-4M.

Our best player tonight was.... Perron!

Batherson looked to be running with that title first half of the game.

Agreed. Perron looked great tonight. Very engaged. He stirs the pot on that line. He forechecks hard.

We are a better team with him in the lineup.

Tkachuk - Stutzle - Donato/Palmieri/Etc
Perron - Norris - Batherson
Greig - Pinto - Giroux
Gregor - Cousins - Amadio

It’s been 5 weeks since Cousins had his injury and his timeline was 6-8 weeks. He should be back in the next 2 weeks here.

Our depth is slowly coming back…

Perron was hitting shooting, and dare I say even pretty fast tonight. Simply all over the place. Honourable mention to Bath who had a solid game.

Chabot missing from the back end really changed the complexion of the game in the 3rd. Hope he’s feeling better by Saturday.

A win is a win, and they can’t all be pretty.

Onwards!

Hamonic with 5 giveaways played over 21 mins

Someone slap green across the face

I know chabot left the game. This is still a problem either way.
All our D were average to poor in this game I thought. Zub and Jensen were somewhat serviceable but that’s about it. Sanderson and Matinpalo also struggled defensively very badly. Forwards coming back were scampering and missing assignments and everything else. Fortunately got the two points but need to settle down in our own zone. Doing so will help Ullmark as well.

Provided nothing much happens at the deadline and all guys get healthy I’d like to see them run a third pairing of JBD and Klevin again. Unfortunately as long as Hamonic remains here I don’t think we ever see him being a healthy scratch and I just don’t get that at all.

What happened to Chabot? Saw he only played 14 minutes or so.
