Nope. Most of the time they can't tell the difference.

For surgeon salary if suck on hairy toes.

Pretty sure I'm not exaggerating.
maybe, but some people will still value 'real' art by a human over AI, same way people will pay for organic, farm-raised, GMO-free whatever the **** it is even though it's the same GD thing.

So all the pickle talk made me look in my fridge & I found a 1L bottle of Moishes pickles. I have no idea how they got there or how long they have been there. The expiry date is 033011. Still edible right?

Anderson better get a 1st and a top prospect after this game and all the crap he's pulling

If they trade him for an average return (low first or less), it'll be for cap related reasons.

Their stats guy mentioned how getting a player like Slaf could allow you to not chase that big player in subsequent picks. This is true for Anderson too vs a low first or later pick too.

They will "value" it, but they won't know the difference. They'll pay whatever they think it's worth and it'll be AI generated.

agree to disagree, generative AI will not be the end of human artists, even though I do agree we won't be able to tell the difference most of the time.

for one thing, generative AI can only replicate a pattern that's already been done before. only a human can truly innovate something new. can generative AI invent the next jazz? cubism? sonnet? video game?

It's just that players like Anderson are hard to come by, they're very few and far between in the NHL. The odds that we'd get the equivalent in a mid to low 1st and some prospect are pretty low. We will then be searching for a player of his ilk afterwards which as stated are not easy to find. Why not keep what we already have instead of having to hope to replace it?
