Montreal hasn't won a game in regulation in February and 4-7-1 overall. They"re 0-4-1 at home this month. They've been out scored 36-21 and shutout 4 times in February. Their opponents have taken 20 out of a possible 24 points. It's like they want to give points away. They're the Oprah of the NHL. "You get a point! You get points! And you get points!" Let's not be the only team that gets 0 points from them since January.

2-1 Blue Jackets, expecting a fast paced up and down game with exceptional goal tending tonight. they still think we are beneath them. Time to forecheck them into turnovers.

Well, if we lose tonight at least we now know who to blame.

Kind of a crazy stat I heard on XM NHL radio today.....only 4 Montreal forwards scored goals in February. Wow.

I am demanding a win...since I am driving up for the game :) Sorry...never been to a game in Montreal before and REALLY EXCITED!!! Can't wait until I can go see a game in Quebec (someday).

Seriously, this team seems laser focused right now...hoping for another convincing performance tonight!

In watching the Rangers game on Sunday afternoon-evening, it was getting late in the 3rd period with the score 4-1. The Rangers announcers made a comment about how Columbus just kept attacking the net and driving to the net. He commented; "they are quick to the puck and win board battles - and then they crash the net." "And they do it in a heavy style - they are big, not like the Montreal Canadians".

It was a nice compliment of the Blue Jackets. But I think it was a fair assessment of what Coach Tortorella has instilled into the team that Jarmo has built. But more than just this - I thought it was an assessment of why Columbus beat Montreal 10-0 early in the season. Montreal is fairly fast - but outside the Shea Weber exception, they are not heavy. They do not have the balance through the line-up that Columbus has. Sooner or later, Montreal's 4th forward line or 3rd D-pairing has to come over the boards. When they do, it has to be advantage Blue Jackets.

Tonight could get ugly for the home team in the Bell Center. Columbus just outclassed a team that was 8-1-1 in their last 10. Montreal has not had the recent success which would lead to similar confidence.

So according to portzline Karlsson was sent home sick. We don't have an extra forward on stand by. We going with 7 D?

While it's not ideal being down a forward, Torts job is a bit trickier here because of Karlsson being a center. The juggling act gets a little tougher.

No flights to MTL from CBUS, no way to get a player there. Yikes.

Maybe..

WTF? Happened in Carolina also....your in a tightly contested playoff race and no extra forward

guess they will just go with 11 because Prout has proved he can't keep up...don't see Harrington doing it either....better chance of finding a guy in some beer league up there to fill in

Edited:

While meeting with reporters, coach John Tortorella said Karlsson would be a game-time decision and there were no plans to recall a forward from the minors.

Defenseman Dalton Prout most likely will dress and skate some shifts up front. It marks at least the second time this season the Jackets must play a defenseman up front due to illness. Prout played less than four minutes in place of an ill Matt Calbert in a Jan. 10 loss at Carolina.

Centers Brandon Dubinksy and Alexander Wennberg probably will play big minutes against the Canadiens.
