This is a couple of weeks old but I had calculated bursts over 18mph/60 for all Jets forwards a few weeks ago:

Gus was once of the fastest in this lol.
NHL's threshold is 20mph. Honestly I was surprised that Gus was below average. I know there's been a narrative created but he honestly hasn't looked slow. Caught up to Thompson with no issue in the first period.

I think a lot of people see a wide stance and don't really have any actual concept of how fast a player is going relative to other players.

Sabres play pretty wide open but the Jets looking pretty solid today - lots of secondary support again...

Just need a bit of urgency

And yes I still think 4th line would be better with AJF

Absolutely. Players with wildly inefficient skating are also perceived to be moving faster because of how hard they're working. Kuhlman was a prime example, he wasn't fast, he was just working really hard to be average.
