Not lately.

He maybe hasn't been as sharp but the big problems tonight were the Wings defense, not Talbot.

Holl with a crap play behind his own net, Ed with bad coverage on the PK, someone with bad coverage by the side of the net and then Kane not being on his man. Then that last shitshow of a goal.

Yes the shot totals were low but those were all quality scoring chances.

Holl is already responsible for our next goal against. Don't even get me started on that worthless imbecile...

I'm going to try the old reverse jinx that worked out so well in December and point out that the Wings have by far the hardest remaining schedule and have a big cluster of teams not that far behind them.

"4 Nations" was what, four games over two weeks? In other words, a super lame excuse for our top guys to be absent during the stretch drive. Where are they?
Exactly. It will be harder with the Olympics overseas next year. Plus, even more players will be playing besides just just Larkin/Raymond.

Yzerman needs to make a big trade to shake this team up and get them in the playoffs, no excuses this year, he has the cap space, the prospects and iodine playoff position to strike now.

I said this during the GDT, but unless you're a contender to make a deep playoff run, you shouldn't trade assets just to make the playoffs and get bounced early.

This team needs two good forwards and two good defensemen to make a deep playoff run.

Unpopular moment for this opinion, but I think Talbot has been good for the Wings this year.
He has, and on the whole so has Lyon. They both have sv% over .900 which
It was 46-20 SOG, you sound like a you know what

yeah, I thought we had Columbus on their heels the majority of the night. They had that 2 minutes stretch at the end of the 2nd where we tire fired it up, but the Wings carried the play for the bulk of the game.
He’s played above his weight most of the year. We saw Husso and Lyon fall off a cliff around this time each of the last two years.

There’s a reason Talbot isn’t playing for a better team.

Over 12 years and 520 games, Talbot has a .913 career sv%. He's not a vezina caliber goalie, but he's been a pretty good one for a pretty long while. He's 37, and he's not perfect. But he's a good goalie and has done well for us.
