I'd like to give some credit to the Chris Neil pep talk.

Zbad's a strong skater with a deceptive extra gear. A powerful drive the net kind of player. He'll scare goalies when he fills out. Whether he'll turn into a regular goal producer is yet to be known. Tonight he played with determination but then he has strong motivation since he wants to stick if he can. It always amazes me when some young guy is brought up for a look see and he plays it safe. It looks like Zbad has learned how to be noticed.

Look, it's not as if I wouldn't want Spezza in there. But the man has not been good this season

Mandy out
Look, he hasn't been the dominant amazing Spezza we are all used to this season so far. Yet, as poorly (by his standards) he's been, he's still producing a boatload of points. Why the heck do you want to trade someone like that? There's a reason this team has an awful win rate with the guy out of the lineup for the last few seasons.

I thought Greening had an awful game. Sit Latendresse and Greening.

Greening needs to play with Spezza on that top line to be effective with us, he is useless every where else, and I think the Sens brass have noticed, while his value is high I would look to package him in a trade at the deadline and give his spot to one of the young guys who can keep the play alive when the puck hits their stick.

BTW that was the best all around game I have seen Karlsson play in his short career so far. Amazing D coverage, great use of his stick on Ovechkin and Backs from and his magical plays at the neutral zone and the blue line, that game winner was all Karlsson.

We did play well in the third, so at least it wasn't completely undeserved.

True, but by the same token, it could have been 4-1 after 2 periods. Or worse.

I'm just saying you play like we did for 45 mins against any team better than the Caps, chances are you lose that game most of the time, regardless of how strong your other 15 mins are.

It's nice to see Andy making Lehner/Bishop fight for their roles. Anderson still isn't old by any means and if he keeps it up, is going to make it damn hard for Lehner to steal his spot. I was a little worried how he'd handle being off for a such a long period with two young guys breathing down his neck. He seems to thrive under pressure.

It's kinda funny how everybody's willing to give Regin the benefit of the doubt despite his bad play from the start while a lot of people would get rid of Lats after 6 games. They've both been injured and haven't had a chance to get back into game form yet but one gets slapped with the goat label while the other kinda gets away scott-free.

I'm not saying Latendresse doesn't deserve to get criticism but it might be wise to wait a bit before throwing him to the wolves.

Keep the bottom 6 intact:

Silfverberg-Spezza-Michalek
Zibanejad-Turris-Alfredsson
Greening-Smith-Neil
Regin-JOB-Condra

Yep, heart and soul guy, shows up every game.

But Mandy told me he's the worst player on the roster, plus Methot is a #6 dman and Spezza is nothing with Karlsson.

With this type of insight I don't know how she isn't working for the OttawaSun.

Agreed. Let the guys have some time to see what they can do - goals are getting scored and we have the ability to rotate some players out for rest/maintenance, there's no reason to hastily dump somebody.

Agree. Both of them have done nothing but Fatender has at least showed a couple of flashes and created a couple of offensive chances. And I tend to give Tender more rope because at least he proved he could produce in the league before while Regain has yet to show anything.
