You absolute maniac.

Did you get yours at the Hills going-out-of-business sale, too?
No, I think I told this story before though. It was a gift from my old world relatives who were so excited we drafted a good Czech boy from Plzeň.

I got my brother a Robert Dome HC Slovan Bratislava jersey a while back though as a present, so the tradition lives on.

I was defending the merits of Milan Kraft all the way up until he wasn't brought back lol

Like to the point that I maintain to this day he could have been of SOME use to a team whose center depth was ancient Mario, Lasse Pirjeta and ???

Where have I seen that triangle before?

Do the replicas come with ads on them:

"spurred on by a low rent coach will never be remembered by anyone in this game of hockey except as the guy who bag skates his players, eggs them on to violent cheap shots disguised as hard hockey"

I don't care about the bag skating part, but we could use a coach like that right about now.

No?

Maybe when Jake Guentzel gets his skull cracked open in a few hours some people will feel differently.... or they can pretend it doesn't really matter and then go on endlessly debating what the new depleted line combos should be for game 7.
No. We could not use a coach like that.

Guess who has two thumbs and scored himself 2 seats for tonight's game?!?

Well, most of the crowd I imagine. 'cept for old Stumpthumb Rick over in section 231. But specifically in this instance I meant me. The answer was me.

If Malkin actually pulls it off tonight and you see some surly Boomer throwing his hands up in disgust I expect you to report back.

I'm going also. We need a stellar goaltending performance tonight. How great would it be if we Goalied a game.

Either Domingue or Jarry would be a fantastic story.

The Pens can finish this without Crosby. They won't win another round without him, though. Then again, I don't think they'd win another round WITH him, so tonight is enough for me. Finish them!

Deal.

I am not confrontational as a general rule but man, it gets hard sometimes when you inevitably have Pittsburgh Dad behind you yinzering to his wife/child/buddy about the deep lore of the game and being absolutely wrong about everything. Roughly 98% of the time there is a reference to how it was better when you could just "punch 'em jagoffs in the mouf"

Count yourself lucky you get any commentary at all. For me it was usually just 'SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!" accompanied by Bud Light encrusted spittle hitting me in the back of the head.

I mean, sometimes with our power play, those people are right lol

Ohhhhhhh no no no good sir. If only.

This was basically whenever any Penguin had control of the puck. Sometimes not even in the offensive zone.

Though during the powerplay the frequency and volume were certainly ramped up.

Guy went f***ing Messier on Guentzel.

So blatant. The Crosby incident - which, for the record, I also think was intentional - at least has some visual ambiguity. How anyone can look at this game as a whole and come to any conclusion besides "Trouba was headhunting" is beyond me. I understand being a homer and giving a team you like the benefit of the doubt, but I like to think I can be somewhat objective when the Pens play dirty. Insisting that Trouba wasn't out to injure 87 & 58 in this game is asinine.

Yeah see clearly Trouba was just trying to make a play with his stick there. But Jake put himself in a bad position by hunching over and Trouba is just such a big, strong, tall muscly man that it really can't be helped. Plus you can see that as Trouba is going in the angle of impact is directly effected by strong solar winds. And his elbow only comes up completely unintentionally because a sudden spasm in his bicep caused by dehydration. Plus you can tell by the way he is that there is no intent to injure. They are both Jakes, after all. You can see by the look on his face going into the hit that he is already sorry that he might cause another person harm. Gentle as a lamb, that one.

Pirjeta was barely on the team during the Kraft era. However Milan had the privilege of having guys like Mike Eastwood and Brian Holzinger.

lol yeah Kraft wasn't the greatest but he was never really set up for much success, either.

Dude had a ridiculous wrister, though.

I meant the above in relation to that post-lockout team, though. They let Kraft go even though their center depth was garbo. Probably wouldn't have made a huge difference in their record.

i hate that every series we go into, we're the ones being "hunted." It's been this way for YEARS. we can never give it back either, it's always our best players getting roughed up and trying to survive the series. i get not wanting it to turn into pens-flyers 2012, but it would be nice to return the favor once in a while. trouba deserves to feel some pain in this one.
