I wanna see Lando pot one tonight, dude has been working hard and had some realgud opportunities last game. Also please GTFO Timid Tatar and bring back the balls to the wall waterbug we all know and love. If that version of Tatar shows up and gets hot it could be huge for us.

The one given in this series thus far is that each game is very different from the previous one. While it's possible that Tampa can't recover from Game 5, I wouldn't bet on it.

Good news- O'Rourke and O'Halloran are working the Caps-Isles game.

Bad news: The refs the Wings drew aren't much better.

What bugs people is everyone says it in an accusatory manner. It is never complimentary.

Seems complimentary to me. It's a legal part of the game that everyone does. Some teams just do it better. And as much as people cry about Eddie O, if you take off the homer glasses for a second you'd notice he actually says that all teams should be doing it and that it's a good smart hockey play to make.

People are just too quick to be offended.

Everyone wants this. I'll be outraged if we don't get favorable calls tonight. C'mon NHL, Montral VS Detroit. RATINGS. No one wants to see Tampa...

Babcock called Dekeyser the "human eraser". Pretty sweet.

Most of the people that don't like it believe it slows down the game, bringing us back to the obstruction era of the 90s.

It's not a compliment if you think it's borderline cheating. Which is exactly how Eddie O sounds when he talks about the Wings. It's also him, a lone commenter on this issue. Why don't the other color guys bring this up about the Wings?

I hate when they call ticky tack hooks and holds and even interference. But allow people to cross check, face wash and do other dirty stuff without repercussions. That's how these guys get so hurt in the playoffs. It's the after the whistle scrums, hits, cheap and dirty ****.

Agreed. I hate the trips where a guys feet get tapped and he falls like he got shot.

Meanwhile for a puck battle in front of the net, guys get wrecked with cross checks.

Dekeyser was never particularly physical throughout his college, AHL, or early NHL career, but man, this series. He's been wrecking ****. He had one bad game, but the other 5 games he's been ****ing outstanding.

That wasn't even Paquette's only slew foot either.

I've seen Tampa set a few picks in this series themselves, I don't see the big deal. People are acting like Detroit just started playing this way. News flash, they've been doing it for a long time.

Apparently no one here watches the Rangers, the Blues, the Blackhawks, the Ducks. Go watch 94-97 hockey and tell me this is clutch and grab. Clutch and grab is also the only way to go with the removal of hitting that they've been pushing towards (which I don't think is a bad thing, the huge Scott Stevens hits are what I'm talking about) for the safety of the players. (If you care, look up the Dan Carcillo video about head injuries, it will make your feels activate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9XLs4BDdjk)

Cooper is trying everything he can to get a shot, even if it's one PP more, that goal can change a series. I'd be more frustrated if he didn't try something if I was involved with the team.

Being a ref, it so extremely difficult to see those plays and who's at fault. The net front work is generally sorted on its own and you don't see injuries from it, it's slow, grinding, and a tangled mess that goes both ways. The work at high speed into the boards and near them end careers, you have to call those and they're generally much easier to see. The ones that blow my mind are the intent to injure penalties that go unpunished. P.K. Subban was thrown from the game but NOT suspended for a blatant intent to injure, yet a play where someone goes low and head contact is accidentally incurred gets a 3 game or more suspension. They are systematically taking hitting out of the game (for good or for worse, I'm a fan of taking out the huge hits for the sake of the humans involved.) and making it a much more skilled affair.
