I think we're overreacting again.

I would tend to agree with you if not for the Wild Card of playing without Fedor Tyutin. His absence cannot be understated. So, he's back in two weeks. Question becomes is 2 weeks too long? Even if the answer is no, I still think its worth looking into acquiring a veteran defenseman that can potentially fill the void we saw tonight, because the void tonight was bigger than just Fedor Tyutin.

I'm not against making a trade for someone, but I want to see a larger size. If we make a deal I want to be absolutely sure we can't last without Tyutin for another few games. I can't make that judgement after 1 game, I think (hope) they were just rusty. Especially Wiz.

Europe. Somewhere.
Ugly game, mostly off that really ugly start. They just weren't ready to play and the Devils were. I'm not sure why that was the case, but hopefully they flip the script come Saturday. The Panthers are a really bad team, and just gave up 5 goals and 2 points to one of our main wildcard competitors. We need to make sure we force them to do the same to us on Saturday. Some playoff hopefuls in the East lost tonight (Tampa, Ottawa off the top of my head) ... but many won (Washington, Detroit, NYR, etc.). At least steal a point if we're dropping games, especially to our main competitors. You can't do that when you're down 3-0 before the game's 10 minutes old.

...Does anyone else's heart skip a beat when our defensemen pass the puck back and forth at the point? Every play is in danger of being intercepted and a breakaway the other way, or they can't keep it in...

Yep, I agree with you.

Nobody wants to hear it, but Boll would have helped stop the bleeding in the first possibly...

...and we're back to normal.

Tough loss, that's three in a row and now 5 points out... gotta start winning soon.. I'm thinking Kek might make a move before Wednesday...

Only three points behind Philadelphia with a game in hand. Don't forget who they have in goal.

Let's all take a deep breath and stop looking at it. 23 games to go.

A guy who is putting up similar numbers as when we rode him into the playoffs? If they had 2009-2013 Steve Mason, I'd agree.

However, they appear to have 2008-2009 Steve Mason in goal.

Not really. After a great start, he's fallen off alot since December (when he got his contract.) and was even pulled last night. He's falling, but Philly is finally scoring goals.

Not so upset with the loss. Upset with the effort and all the mental mistakes.

Losses happen. Losses in which you gift wrap them to a team that really didn't earn it; well those shouldn't happen as often as they have this season.

If we miss the playoffs; we simply gave it away.

Let's lay this out. If Jack Johnson wants to be the 25-30 minute a night guy; he can't continue to make plays like he did last night. We've seen him do it a few times this season. I give Wiz a break because I expect that out of him and I'm not looking for him to be a shut down 1/2. How that guy split our defense like that and went in all alone is a total mystery that won't be solved until I can see another angle. If I ever do see that angle, I'll probably even be more upset.

To be honest, I wonder why JJ was on the top PP unit. I'd rather leave that Wiz/Murray pairing together. I'm assuming I accurately remember Wiz and JJ out their together.

One of Jack's worst games of the year. He'll get it back together.

Surprised it wasn't a better effort after JK's interview with the Dogpatch the other day basically saying that they would be watching closely who steps up for this run, and who doesn't.

My thoughts on the game. Very disappointed in Richards. Didn't like how we weren't prepared for NJ and disliked how he changed lines so quickly. We have certain lines that even we as fans know we should use and he doesn't. Also, please use Erixon and/or Goloubef!

I think we can put the fighting/boll/anyone willing to fight disagreement to bed, we are on opposite sides and that won't change until he's healthy, then we can re-evaluate and see who was right. Truce!

Normally I agree with you, but I'm very concerned about the offensive ability of our D and 23 games to go will go fast! Not to mention a bad schedule of playing 8 games down the stretch against the West so no making up ground there. NYR aren't going to be caught it looks like, they are rolling. I think the Wildcard is our best shot...
