Missed this one and I fully expected to wake up this morning to read/see the Sharks had handed the B`s their lunch after a bye week.

Sweet surprise though, hope the boys just keep it going. They`ll benefit from having some practice time prior to the Ducks who, I believe play Tuesday night

Such a good game. You missed a hell of a game. All 4 lines played well. Team was generating some great chances. Krejci line had a number of golden chances.

Powerplay didn't look so good last night.

To me the players aren't playing scared and look to be having fun. It appears they've been asked to freewheel a little. Much more exciting.

This is easily the happiest this board has been in over 2 years. No complaints right now.

Agreed!

Even when the Bruins were in first place last march.

I hope they keep it going.

Will Rask play Wednesday or Thursday?

Could someone reply to this and post what the lines were last night?

Did anyone else notice how excited Chara was after the game? He was whacking people on the head with congratulatory hits and I thought he was gonna take poor Krugs head off when he got to him.

The confidence of the team is awesome right now. They know they control thier own destiny and are in it to win.

Julien did this team a huge favor by telling this team they "don't have enough talent" oh yea?!, talent this.....

heck of a play by krug on the game winner. there's a lot of really smart players on this team, and that was just a small example of good hockey sense and the skill to put a puck in a perfect area. i've found their games under cassidy (so far) have been more fun to watch - could just be the usual bump in play after a new coach comes in, but a lot of the games the last few years were pretty blah to me.

DS should pass on the potential Colorado trade

I don't really care who they trade with, but if they could upgrade on the 3rd line center position and make a deal for a top 3 defenseman they would be very dangerous.

The way Spooner is skating and Vatrano consistently gets his shot off, finding a legit playmaker who can skate with those two could be huge.

Until I see something to suggest otherwise, I am making Cassidy ally #1 in this upswing.

This whole "they would have gone on a run anyways" is nothing but leftover Claude loyalty. He's gone...they're kicking ass. They haven't been this exciting in years. You want to tell me it's just a coincidence that they start playing a way more energetic and confident game as soon as Cassidy becomes coach? You want to tell me that Adam McQuaid just so happened to think to start jumping into plays?

The team has some serious mojo going heading into the all important stretch drive. There is a very different look and feel to this squad that will serve them well down the stretch. Montreal is reeling and the Sens are heading out on a 4 game road trip with serious injury issues with their forwards. Time to focus on looking forward and climbing the standings rather than worrying about what's behind. Cassidy took time to lather them in WD-40 before this one. No rust showing what so ever.

The Marchand goal was simply a thing of beauty. One highlight show referred to him as the son dance kid to Butch Cassidy. Like that.

The Spooner, Vatarno, Hayes line has been terrific since being assembled. Believe Vatarno has been the key but man oh man has Jimmy Hayes shown another side to his woes. Completely different player right now that is showing he can be an asset not a liability. Good for him.

Rask has the quietness to his game with his movement in the net again. Another stellar outing for him.

Carlo getting put in more important roles like the PP and OT under Cassidy. Very much like that.

The team spent a tremendous amount of time attacking the net and keeping the play down low. No more constantly feeding the points. The changes he has made were much more evident in this one than the previous 3 wins. They will only get better as the comfort level sets in.

Amazing how a small win streak can change a teams fortunes. Off to the pond for some duck hunting and more of the same play from the Bruins!

Yeah let's not overuse Rask. He shouldn't see another B2B this season unless it's dire circumstances.

Khudobin won his last start. He should get one of these two So-Cal games.

Personally I give him Anaheim. There is just something about guys playing against their old clubs. Let Khudobin get some payback for the Ducks burying him in the minors last season.
I would normally agree, but he's just spent a week in Florida so should be well rested. But I'd watch for any signs of fatigue going forward. Hopefully, Khudobin finds his game and builds off his last win.

Nobody was a bigger Claude supporter than me, but it was time to move on. I had no preconceived notions about Cassidy, but how can anyone not be impressed right now.

The fact is that even the best coaches get tuned out at some point. Claude had a 10 year run that was solid and successful. Nothing that Cassidy does from here in out will change or lessen that.

I'm just enjoying the ride right now!

Thankful for what Claude did, hopeful for what Cassidy might do.

what a good game to watch. end to end action for the entire game! vatrano was everywhere, cehlarik was a beast.. how many times did he take the puck away from someone and turn it into a scoring chance! my only negative was moore is keeping the puck on his stick wayyyy too much lately.. i understand he is a shifty player and good with puck possession. but he needs to remember hes a fourth liner and stick to that role a little more.. he will have some real value at the trade deadline with a team looking for pk help.. and i know hes been very good for us but this would be the ultimate sell high time for him and i think nash could take his spot with ease . lets face it nash is a very good fourth line center. doesnt wow you with his skill but he's smart and is a very good possesion guy

SAN JOSE, Calif. — The Bruins kicked off a four-game road trip here Sunday night with a 2-1 overtime victory that had Brad Marchand racing down ice with a long lead pass from Torey Krug and nailing a doorstep backhander between the legs of Sharks goalie Martin Jones.

Patrice Bergeron triggered the goal with a faceoff victory deep in Boston’s end, with Krug collecting the puck to the right of goalie Tuukka Rask and setting up the streaking Marchand with a long lob pass torn right from the Harlem Globetrotters playbook.

A designed play?

“Not really, we just try to read off what their defense is doing,†said Marchand, whose 25th goal of the season tied David Pastrnak for the team lead. “Torey made a great play there to get the puck up to me and I knew if I got out there he would find me.â€

This was the first game since Clode's firing that I've been able to sit down and watch. With the week long layoff and the Sharks playing last night, I was expecting a snoozer. I was also expecting the Bruins to lose.

Holy ****. Was I wrong. This team looks like a brand new squad. It's crazy how different they look. Battling hard in the corners. Using their speed in the neutral zone. Looking for better scoring chances in the offensive zone, and not just flinging weak pucks at the net. The best thing I saw was the short/quick passing in their own zone and the neutral zone. The Sharks were pressing HARD, and those quick accurate passes really let the guys escape danger. I was great to watch, and have seen this team do something like that in a while.

They gave up a few chances, and they're going to do that with style, but Rask was up to the task. He's a world class goaltender, and can play this style of game. He's going to have a few stinkers here and there, but that's going to happen.

I would love for them to make the playoffs, but right now, they're just fun to watch.

Despite the Krejci line having a lot of great chances, I thought Krejci in particular was awful last night. Pasta and Cehlarik did a lot to carry that line; Celharik's passing is fantastic and Pasta is just a treat to watch. Krejci was turning the puck over like crazy.

Didn't J. Thornton get traded after loosing a faceoff with the other team scoring ?

Great OT play by Krug, Bergeron, and Marchand.
I remember those 3 involved in another OT play.
On the opening faceoff I think Bergy drew it back to Krug, who bbanked it off the right boards to MarchandBergy and then they scored in like 8 seconds of OT. It was on youtube, will have to look for it.

Found it

Knew exactly what one you were talking about, that was a great play. Krug banked it to Bergeron who go it to Marchand though. I love Bergeron's recognition of what's happening when he takes off before Krug does anything. Those 3 are so in-tune with each other and are definitely the go-to to put out in OT.

Hayes does look better, but I still don't want him on the team.

Likely would be the popular opinion with the majority of fans. As long as he is in the line up, its a huge plus to have him making a meaningful contribution. He's put together about 6 games in a row while doing just that. Don't no where it has come from or why but sure hope it does continue.

I love Cehlarik's ability to make a quick play with the puck. On and off his stick in a moment and directed to the right person.

He has not been very impressive carrying the puck. Real lack of any ability to beat someone 1 on 1. Maybe as he matures he can beat people 1 on 1 in the cycle game, but I'm not totally sold on him, yet.

I know wins hide problems, but still don't think he is the answer on Krejci's left side. Also, think you should give him a chance to prove otherwise right up until the deadline.
