it's just crazy how off the whole team looks. i hope they are sick or something, because at least you could blame it on that. If they aren't sick, then what would cause a team to go from 3rd overall in the standings to looking like a lottery team? it's more than the goalies, it's basically every aspect of the game.
The thing is that they were terrible the 7-8 or so games before the break so this is now a very long "slump". Nobody outside of Draisaitl, including McDavid relative to his normal level, has pissed a drop of anything most of the season, some of the worst goaltending in the league and now the defense is cratering. Think about it? Who has had a good season relative to their norms this season? Drai and Nurse? Kulak for a while. Perry too for a while. That's it, that's all.

Im scared that, since our roster is older, they’re running out of steam because of the long nature of the season

Bouchard has got to cut Hagel off there. And it would help with Skinner came across hard as well. Both players just way too casual.
Bouchard was skating towards and cutting off his man like he should.

Skinner was reacting late and doing a slow post to post skate push on what would be an easy stop for almost any other goaltender in the league.

They aren't going to win the Cup, dude. That's the goal. Anything less than that is a failure.

Or they could? There is still A LOT of hockey to be played, both tonight and this year.

There is absolutely no reason to give up over a few weeks of crap hockey. I remember when we use to HOPE to be in the conversation for the playoffs by now. Give it some perspective dude.

@CycloneSweep @CupofOil this applies to you guys too.

I don’t understand how everyone’s (excluding mcdrai) game can fall off a cliff at the same time. Brutal stretch of crap games.
We usually see this when the team has given up on the coach. Maybe they've given up on the goalie? Or maybe after a year and whatever they've given up on Knob? That or they've all been kicking the flu and covid around back and forth? it just doesn't make sense.

The team is also old for the most part.

Very casually skating towards. Which is why he missed the easy play defending him.
