He worked hard . That 3rd line has surprisingly held their own the last couple of games . I wouldn't put Beleskey in for Hayes right now .

His size and reach help out on that line since Ryan and Frank are vertically challenged.

Dobie both lucky and good. He battled. About all we can hope for...

Colin Miller, man. Goalies are going to learn he's capable of elite shots...

Do you think the Briins realize they need to work on what they do when pressed with the puck deep in their own zone? Heh. Every game it's some sort of keystone cops moment ending in our net. There are key faulty decisions in there each time. Might wanna work on some extra outlets in practice. Maybe even take some hard icings instead of banging it around in feet down low until disaster happens.

I know they've been told "make plays," but sometimes ya gotta just take what's there and start fresh with a face off.

He looked outstanding for a kid playing his first game. He had instant chemistry with Krejci and Pasta and (IMO) his presence suddenly made 46-88 work. Up till now they seemed like a poor combo 5on5. Pasta trying to speed up and Krejci trying to slow it down. Cehlarik complemented both of them. He plays fast off the rush like Pasta, but he's also a heavy board guy who will cycle with Krejci. He had a great 2on1 with Pasta where he floated a pass to 88 who got robbed by Miller. He had a great exchange with Krejci that set him up for a shot between the dot and inside hash mark that Cehlarik mishandled but the play was there. Honestly, that line was slipping behind the back passes, give and go's, cycles... They looked better than the Bergeron line. They were also a little risky with Pasta giving the puck away twice that led to chances against but seriously, that line had instant chemistry and Cehlarik was why. He didn't play timid, he didn't defer. He battled hard and played creative and competitive. Long overdue.

Re: Beleskey. I was surprised to see him scratched over Hayes, tbh. (That said, I think Hayes has been solid of late.)

Re: Spooner. He's played about a minute and a half LESS under Cassidy. Also surprising.

Re: Backes, I thought he was strong. Very physical and in the final minute it's easy to send them out. They don't have to pull anyone out and can just roll them out there to protect the lead.

I was there and I focused on Cehlarik and this is a great assessment

I thought Cehlarik looked very good.....lots of poise, good puck skills and good positioning.

Definitely had some chemistry with Krejci and Pasta.

Smooth skater and good hands.

I was very impressed.

Thanks Sarge.

Hey what a blast today was

Love Nick he's the man

Jay thought Amanda was in college

Julia told me 'what's that supposed to mean? She looks 25' ha ha

Adam McQuaid should be allowed lucky

It was fun to see everyone !

I am not looking forward to the drive home tonight. First I have to drop Amanda off at the airport hotel (even though her plane will probably NOT be going anywhere Mon morning) ...then drive home to NH.

The B's had better soundly beat the Habs and make it worth my while.

I'm not alone (LadyFan and BMC, I'm pretty sure) but I love K Miller.

He can play on my bottom pairing anytime.

I'd call him sir, if I was in a scrum with him too. As in, "look, we've all got to pair up with someone, but I have no beef with you, sir".

Then again I like Quaider too. I have a soft spot for nasty D-men who stand up for teammates without question. It's why I loved AF too. Anyone who flips off Habs crowd with equipment malfunctions are my kind of players.

I like both Kevan and Adam.

My daughter's favorite is Quaider. The B's delivered a signed photo of Adam to her last night...she was surprised ;). She is flying back to San Francisco early tomorrow (unless the storm prevents it) They have been winning at home with her there at the games..so maybe she should stay.

The most important take away from the game - two more points in the bank.

Miller and Miller besting Miller was key. Scoring from D has been a scarce commodity this season. If that type of contribution can continue it could be a difference maker down the stretch. Both playing better right now than at any other point so far this season.

Has Hayes looked better at any point in his time in Boston than in the last two games? A tremendous weight seems to have been lifted of his shoulders.

Doby gave them everything they could ask for in this one. Bad goals were a problem for him this season. None of that yesterday. Looks confident again following his stint in Providence. Crucial to get production from him down the stretch for the B's to be in the hunt for a PO spot.

Hated Habs visit today with two team headed in opposite directions. Cash in in that opportunity.

My daughter and her college roommate will take the T in from school and join the mayor at Legends

Me and the dog will be living the dream from home maybe with some Chinese food and a marrow bone watching Cassidy's Crew take down the Habs in regulation

Be careful driving its bad already

During the game we commented this is the best Hayes looked all year - he actually looked pretty fast

The Joe Morgan March to playoffs continues.

The Miller Boys, such an offensive pairing.

That new kid (83) looked damn good.

Line of Vatrano, Spooner and Hayes all +2. In the least ice time. In a 1 goal game.

Krejci puts up a couple of assists, still manages a -1 (team leader -14).

Pasta the hero, also the reason for Krejci's -1.

Doby with a win, Butch realizing quickly he has the new coach golden touch has no qualms about using his backup.

At least one mindless pass a game. 2 yesterday.

Everyone has a clean start now.

Good start for Hayes, a +2 game. Still, he only played 8:18.

Clean starts are a good thing for the mindset of a player who has been struggling. Managing his minutes is ok. The game situation may dictate that. Late in close games, not the guy you necessarily want to see coming over the boards. If he is in the line up he needs to find ways to contribute in small ways. Last two games he certainly has not been a liability. Points, like the drop on Chiller's goal, are a bonus.

I'm trying to refrain from going too overboard on Cehlarik, because it's only one game. But I thought it was a ridiculously good NHL debut.
