He was reading the play. His job is to face the shooter. It would have been a goal even if he didn't slide out of the crease. Fact is, the Kings didn't cover the pass. They clumped up with Quick and Simmonds was left all alone.

His read was fine. I want him to be aggressive to the cross pass every time because with the kings system there's no way the puck would go all the way back across. I've seen 5 year olds defend that play better. Tic tac toe play.
