I get why people bring up the effort thing but also, you kind of have to acknowledge that this team is just really bad.

That kind of got shooed away because they had good runs, but those teams were always fragile. Not mentally or physically. You could make that argument but it's not the one I'm making here.

They were fragile in the sense that a ton went right and they couldn't handle to many guys not playing their best. This year, the shit hit the fan on pretty much everyone from Kreider, to Zibanejad, to Fox, to Lafreniere regressing back to what he was.

And as I mentioned earlier, maybe this is the worst version of it and they're not this bad but we have to acknowledge when a team was never that great and needed too many things to go right. They need to make very significant changes.
they’re not the most talented team in the league but they arent bad enough to consistently turn in games with this level or suckage, and its been a regular thing this year

believe me i generally don’t believe in the effort narrative. but this team is clearly not putting their all into it.

I think everyone is a bit over it.

They'll show up to work and say what they have to say, but I think everyone knows in the lizard part of their brains that this core isn't a winner.

That was evident last spring when Florida didn't really break a sweat.

Imma jus’ gun leave this here. See you tomorrow, folks.

5 terrible games against NJ in the playoffs got GG fired. How many terrible games are we at this year?
It’s clear as day the coaching staff and the players are in different worlds right now. It’s up to Pizza Boss, of course, which side he’s going to support. My guess is he won’t fire Lavi until May. (unless these chodes lose 8-2 in the next three.)

Which only heightens the pressure on Drury to make smart player moves. I just don’t see anything that says “add” versus “subtract.” He’s been an “add” guy the whole way through - I.e., we’re f**ked.

I think Drury has been trying to trades guys for months but the offers are minimal. I think if he had any decent offers by now he would have taken them already.

If fans really hate Drury how about starting FIRE DRURY chants at future MSG games or are fans to scared to speak their mind at MSG. If fans happen to meet the players ask them why they are soft lazy and overpaid? 😂😂😂😂

Locker room is wrecked, didn’t even watch the game but I know it.

We did like 10 years of fire Sather, even at Devils games it did nothing, I propose Fire Dolan

Shock??!! Lmao, what a thing to feel by the players who are accountable for their own efforts
This was their 1,436th time they came out with no effort. What the f*** would they be shocked about?! It's a f***ing dead horse that a 50 million volt lightning bolt couldn't shock back to life. It's a f***ing dead horse whose entrails have been picked clean by zombies in an episode of the Walking Dead.

f*** this colostomy bag of a team.

Right. Which tells me he should be selling, rather than overpaying to add anything (at the margins).

Or really, fk it - just stand pat, then deal with it all in the summer.

Yeah I think they aren’t as bad as this and this is a wheels falling off moment but so what? They aren’t as good as two conference appearances in three years either, and even if they were, again, who cares? Winning a Cup. Thats the goal. They aren’t good enough to do that. They are two degrees short of being in that tier at least.

I will take my favorite whipping boy out of the equation because I think he's the #1 stain on this organization but how is 5-0 after 1 period and 8-2 final score against one of the worst teams in the league anything but effort? We didn't get blown out by the Caps here. No we're not 5-0 after 1 and 8-2 final score worse than the Sabres. Yes, the effort wasn't there. Yes the goaltender is an absolute mental midget who makes Mika Zibanejad look like Marcus Aurelius.

I don't know, the team is just bad, and that's always my primary concern.

I worry about effort if/when they have the roster in place and it still isn't working.

I know Jones isn’t awesome but I love how Drury traded for Vaakanainen and that was the end of Jones. are you kidding me? Urho Vaakanainen? I truly can’t stand this team.
I remember those stretch of games last year with Jones in the lineup and being able to actually move the puck up the ice. I just gave up. He is never gonna be given a chance here. Its a joke.

It's likely igor now

He shouldn't be able to make any more trades or signings
The whole board is calling for trades. Do you really want to stay put? If not Drury than not this season.

Even if for low picks move at least the upcoming free agents.
