I get the size, I just think he will use his body more like malik than a chara.

If we could get a lundell for him i pull the trigger. We need a top center prospect. We have other very good d prospects, but none that i feel can land the top center without adding more.

i would even seriously consider him for Larkin who i think would help this team immensely now and in the future
I think as he matures a better version of Malik with better closing speed and more offensive Is exactly the type of D he will be. Malik logged a lot of minutes against good players. He was not terrible.
Style wise I think that’s a great comparison broski
I see lindgren as a cornerstone piece here. Not just the friendship with Fox, but because he’s a real solid player who can be better and already proved he can play well when paired with anyone. I view him and Robertson as main stays on the left side.
It’s going to come down to Jones or Miller. Who pans out and who they would use in a deal IMO. What Lindgren and Robertson and Schneider bring is what the rangers want more all over the roster.

Yea but he may not have his man strength yet. We saw this year Chytil actually looking like a grown man on the ice. Sometimes even though these kids look the part they are still immature. I wish he was more physical as well, I expect well see him using his body and speed to cut down angles and shield the puck and all the good things that go along with it. But I don’t think he’ll ever be a bruiser like Schneider. Don’t think it’s in his DNA. Still has the tools to make a hell of a defenseman with that size, speed, and reach. I think we see a very different player in a year or so. And honestly, if Jones turns into a similar player to fox, maybe the rangers would be more comfortable with Lindgren, Jones, Robertson down the left side.. if that occurs Miller will be one hell of a trade chip to cash in
I think this is a case of people having different ideas in their mind about what physical means. Some people think crushing hits, I think about the mindset of getting in the hard places. It would never bother me if KAM never lays a single massive hit his entire career. However, if guys are in the goalie's face and he is skating away, that is a major problem for me. If a guy is making a move and he misses with the stick, at least use the body as a form of obstacle. On the first Boston goal last night, he could have just engaged with the body and broken up the play or made it far more difficult, but he is stick checking and not really engaging. I could care less about monster hits, but he seems to lack grind in his game and it is all about stick checks. That is great when someone has a step on you or you are using that reach to keep people to the outside, but teams seem to have figured out that they can nullify his reach buy just going at him.

appears we have a problem. Patience might be out the window. We all see how young the players are yet management wants playoffs. Now what?

You basically just posted he’s not physical. Regardless of defining physical, he’s neither or none of the above so far.

Yes. He is definitely not how I would view physical. I am not concerned with the crushing hits physical. The one I am concerned with is the one he lacks. My concern is he is too passive a personality to ever be more than a stick checker. I was utterly shocked when he skated away while Caps players crowded Shesty. That floored me. That is the thing that doesn't require training and being a rookie should have no impact on. Get in there and protect your goalie. For this reason, it wouldn't bother me if he was moved for a desperately needed high potential center. Could he develop that? Maybe, but being passive is a personality trait so his personality would have to change, and that is usually not likely. I have really soured on him over the last two weeks. I am leaving the benefit of the doubt open, but I don't have much hope after seeing his recent lack of spine.

Exactly this. And that is my opinion of being hard to play against too. He is a one trick pony and too soft in his own end. Dude is super young and way ahead of schedule- but he definitely needs to learn how to use his body as a defenseman. Eapecially in the playoffs.... I’ve seen signs though!!! I just don’t see the passion in him... like he is too calm.
