I would rather have Tarasenko at $5M than some other vet who could not shoot, score and pass. We have had vets who were well beyond their "best before date" on this roster. Some of them, have been well into their "total crap after dates"!

Ideal solution to me is to talk to him about the TDL... he has a NMC the Sens have no choice. See if he wants to give the playoffs a crack and let him know the door is open if he wants to come back. If they can feel out the $ even better.

Trade him , retain 50% , get a late first back; Re-sign him in the off season.

Ok so maybe I am out of touch with the popularity of other clubs in the NHL but why are there so many Vegas fans in the building tonight? Yes we know they were literally given a Stanley Cup contender on day one but they aren't a storied franchise and I doubt all those people in attendance flew up from Vegas..
They have 19 Canadian players on their roster, the most of any NHL team. The majority of them come from Ontario. Could explain the huge presence if their families and friends are in attendance..

Also Vegas was a cool new thing when Ottawa was an embarrassing franchise with an embarrassing owner. I remember Ottawa kids sporting Vegas jerseys pretty quickly after they came to the league

even if they won those two games, the Wild Card spots would still be well out of reach…. the playoffs became unobtainable back in mid December

View attachment 825052
Nah.

On Dec 15 we had 22 points in 25 games. If you exclude all the games between dec 15 and feb 1 we'd be sitting at .536 pts % right now, just a couple wins outside of the last wild card spots.

We still had time to pull up in mid december.

That was a fun game to be at. Thought we were goners when we went down by two and when they tied it late, but the boys battled back.

The people who left late in the third when we were up 1 missed an amazing finish. Even though the drive out of the parking lot was brutal at the end, it was worth it in the end seeing a fantastic game.

I missed the game. How did they look overall?

How was the crowd? Apparently a sell out? Was it a game from one of the BOGO deal?

Seriously, we took our time leaving, browsed at the Sens store a bit, mozied out to our car in lot 9 and sat in it for half an hour without moving.

Crowd was kinda sleepy until the 3rd, but was electric from there on.

Yeah, it was super cold too. I was in lot 7. I kinda mis-timed and arrived super early from Toronto like at 5:45 to a relatively empty parking lot, I'm glad it was open. I parked close to the arena so I wouldn't have to walk too far in the cold to the venue but in actuality I should have parked closer towards the exits instead so that leaving would have taken less longer. Something I'll take into account as it was my first time going to a game since I'm from Toronto. 4 hours getting back home but it was worth it because the game was really good.

There are 12 posts for this game over on the vegas board. 18 for the Leafs game. Good thing the casinos bought all the season tickets. Lol.

If you are basing the Knights fanbase on how many fans their are on hf boards, then i don't know to say.

The majority of Knight fans are on reddit.

Seattle is the same way over here on hf boards.

What a great win. It's been a long time the boys have stuck to their system the entire game regardless of the score and ended up winning as a result.

Usually, we play to the tempo of the game(which results in us getting bullied by the better teams), we do not dictate/stay consistent to it ourselves.

This is the dream! Love this physical heavy line they've got. But given where the sens are in the Standings and how shallow the prospect pool is they gotta deal him. I'd love if they re-signed him next year.

Forsberg was unreal last night. With the shootout he stopped what 6 breakaways and a clear cut 2 on 1. Best game a goalie has had all year. The sens also stuck with it. Was in the building it was a great atmosphere.

Seems to happen a lot.
He Literally never watches but lectures the entire fanbase. Loser.

If he made $1 million, he would have been traded already. At $2.5 million, he has negative value. There is no point paying a team to take him on, when we can just juggle the situation for the rest of the season and not pay an asset to get rid of Kubalik.

A 1-dimensional scorer that barely scores is practically useless.

Might have to suck it up and keep him for the season. Trading him and retaining money doesn't help the cap situation at all, and we'll still have a 21 player roster, and no extra forwards. Although, trading him for a 6th round pick and retaining half his salary at least brings in a draft pick, so do it if possible.

At some point, another player will get injured for 10 games, be IR'd and we'll be able to call up MacEwen and someone else.
If this is even possible do it. I don't think it is.

Kind of annoying seeing sens fans pumping tires on the main boards because of a winning streak after we lost the season AGAIN.

Like, didn't we realize we sucked this year and the season was done in November/December. Haven't we realized this team always does better in the second half once the pressure is off?

It's been several years of this team winning games when they're well below 500 only to have them hit 500 and then lose a bunch of games because the pressure is on. Same thing this year, but everyone is falling for it AGAIN.

Why do you guys keep doing this to yourselves?

Just wait until they clinch a playoff spot and then go nuts.

It's like humility and humbleness are non existent.
It's really embarrassing

A team without Eichel and Stone in their line up, yes still a top tier team, but with the Sens having their full roster, with no one on the injured list, the two missing Knights may have tipped the balance in their direction.
Do us all a favor and watch the games instead of posting innacurate nonsense. When you do finally watch then come have a discussion. If not please don't post and hi Jack threads of people who are actually fans of this team.

A fancy new team that is a winner right away without any of the struggle? Honestly a kid's dream

Chabot is not going anywhere. It's very obviously going to be Chychrun moving if they go that route.

ideally the Senators can keep both ….. If they choose to move Chabot, it’s best to do so before his M-NTC kicks in this July.

IF I had to choose, between the two, I would keep Chychrun IF he agreed to an extension.

Nah.

The problem is that we can not exclude the games between Dec 15th and Feb 1st…. And that is why the Sens record is .482….

The Devils are currently at .534, and they’re still 7 points behind the last wildcard spot…. So four more points for Ottawa would not have vaulted the, into playoff contention……. Their playoffs chances are currently at 1.1%, and have been well out of the playoff picture for well over month now.

People rag on Leafs fans but I swear per capita there are more idiot Sens fans and homers.

Still have nothing on Habs fans but there is a reason a lot of other fanbases think we're the worst.
