He WAS coming up big.

He IS not coming up big lately. He's not facing a huge workload either. The Bruins have given up less than 30 shots a game for 17 straight Rask games now.

Yes, there are breakdowns. Yes, we need to correct that. But the reason why Rask is paid top tier money is to be a top tier goaltender, which means making crucial saves. He WAS. But NOW, he is not.

A nice objective analysis . Just because he was awesome earlier in the year doesn't mean he is exempt from taking some of the blame when his game slips a notch .

I can't blame Rask for this game. The defensive coverage (or lack there of) ended giving Toronto glorious opportunities to score. Shots were low, but when every other shot is a scoring chance the shot count doesn't really tell the tail ....

Put the 24 hour rule in place before posting following this one. Felt very much along the lines of the game 6 final with Chicago. What a kick in the gonads. Nothing more could or should be asked of Bergy, Marchy and Pasta. The Defence that was so surprising good and kept them in so many games in the first half has faltered. Miscues a plenty with the D cost them.

Is Quader now the best pugelist in the league? Don't see many bouts like that anymore. Surprised they allowed Martin back in the game.

next to the bench
Ladyfan, if you beleive the Bruins are going nowhere, then I'm sad. You know and feel the bench from where you seem to sit.

I still think with one or two addtion, then can get in a wildcard spot.

Maybe. I hope they do .

I mean there is no way they have a chance at the cup this year and most here have known this all season....I still would like to see them make at least the first round of the playoffs so the young players can see what it is like. I have always felt the playoffs is a different level game than the reg. season.

You can't win with only one line working.

I am always cheering for the B's. I can hope for a miracle....I didn't think (at this point in the season) they would win in 2011 either ;)...You never know...there is always hope.

Nice post Ladyfan. I always love your optimism and the way you present yourself. I'm far from a regular on this board although I check in every day. I don't have 20,000+ posts but I'll be 54 years old Feb 9th and have been the biggest Bruin fan ever here on our island of Newfoundland. Lol, I could easily be an nhl statistician cause I absolutely love numbers.

You're so correct when you say many of us didn't expect much from this team this season. Just too many holes with the worst being a back up, one capable of playing 25% of the games and having decent numbers. This would help rask immensely not having to be the hero every night. Do you think it's worth calling Khudobin back up and giving him a 2nd chance?? Zane Mac is a project and could very well be good for us down the road. YES he should of stopped that last shot which gave Leafs the win but he should never have been in that position. Either start him or send him back to Providence.

Keep posting Ladyfan. You're an awesome Bruin contributor, I love your posts and certainly have a great admiration for you. Thank you for all you do!!

Ladyfan, almost forgot. Celerik{sp} is having a great year in Providence. Do you think the Bruins should give him a look?? I'm sure he's as good as many of our 3rd and 4th line players..Likely even better..
