Your not understanding the point. Rask literally had to keep games under two goals to have a chance to win. He had to keep up an elite pace. It's like your top scorer has to score every game to win. It's not sustainable. Since Rask is playing average they are losing.

You cant expect Zane to come in and be an all star goalie. He will be average, Team has to play better in front of him.

That last goal was a seeing eye puck and Krug couldn't clear the screen in front or block the shot. Zane looked right around the screen and puck came left in the tiniest of opening. Literally hit the inside post and went in. It was a great shot with a bit of luck.

Last 3 wins he literally gave up more than 2 goals in each game.

If you number one weren't so freaking desperate for pints and number two, had any sort of support in the form of a capable backup goalie, there'd be no way you rush your $7m vezina caliber franchise goalie back for a January regular season game.

Run on sentence and I don't give a single ****.

This is what the season has come to.
I no longer care about grammar.

When your team is so bad that it causes you to make grammatical mistakes- it's called Bruonics.

Backes and Krejci combined $13 mil cap hit. Have many years of both to look forward to as their careers decline. Brilliant stuff!

I haven't ever seen Chara yell at his fellow teammates as much as he did last night. I could not hear what he was saying but it looked like he was directing his yelling at DK and DB.

Bergeron and Pasta both with three points and 21 minutes of ice time. Bergeron seven shots, won 21 faceoffs. On a bum leg. Pasta had four shots. Marchand with an assist.

Krejci and Backes a combined -3 and four shots.

IMO this is the #1 problem. Not the kids on the 4th line

We may have the best line in the league. And we still can't find a way to win games...

Not sure where to begin, but anyway Rask is playing hurt no question and the team has no one else, Zane and Subban seem to do great in the AHL, but so far nothing at the NHL level. K Miller with another dumbass mistake giving up the 3-1 goal seconds after they just scored.

If we are going to try to make the playoffs this year then Sweeney needs to start dealing NOW! first we need a reliable good vet backup, they also need to look at some minor and major trades. Minor ones would mean trading Hayes, Nash and Liles for whatever you can get, to me they have no business being in the Bruins Uniform. Major deal look at bringing in Tyler Johnson and Alex Killorn or go crazy and get both Duchene and Landeskog, yes we would have to give Carlo as part of that deal to get either of them, but I would do it.

If we think we are not going to make the playoffs then sell, sell, sell. Beleskey, Hayes, Nash, Liles, for a low to mid pick each. Then go full rebuild put guys like K Miller, Chara, Krejci and Backes on the trade bait list. For the guys with NTC/NMC just tell them they are not wanted here and the best thing to do is waive as CJ will be fired and this team is changing their style of play(hopefully).

This team is exactly what I thought they would be and what many people on this board said they would be. I know this game was tough but this IS what I expected. Their D needs to be rebuilt and as far as I can see that is exactly what they are doing. I know this season has not been fun but I knew that going in.

Me too. I still hope the B's can get into the playoffs so all of those kids can get some playoff experience.

I know they were going no where this year.

Good. We know what Krejci can do.

I also knew Backes isn't a 'skill' player like Eriksson so expecting too much of him isn't fair. He is what he is and he is not a player who is going to carry the line. That contract will be bad in a few years.

Yes. Disappointing.

FWIW I believe several of the B's are ill. Tuukka had his #40 on the water bottle (which is what they do when someone is sick). Also the coach wasn't feeling well.

I thought Bergeron also sounded funny in his post game interview. It was almost like he was getting out of breath toward the end.

Not even upset anymore with this team. If I get to watch games so be it but my time is to valueable. I am almost upset that the wife both me tickets to see them in March. But I do love the town so we make it work

I hope they play well when you are here.

I will get out my wand...:tinker: (only I am thinking more of a wand from Harry Potter that Tinkerbell)

Glad to hear that. One thing I cannot stand is was when some players are pouring their heart and soul into a game while others are half-assing it as if they don't care whether they win or lose. Krejci is a player who is half-assing it too many shifts and too many games, and it's costing the team. He doesn't get paid the large amount of money he does to show up some nights and take others off. This is not the first year this has happened either.

I know it's fashionable to get mad at Nash, Schaller, Hayes, etc. but those guys are at least playing as hard as they can. They just are not very good hockey players. I don't get mad at them as much as I get irritated at management for continuing to bring in every rum dum that no other teams want, and think they have accomplished something by filling out the roster with trash players. In the case of Krejci he has the talent to be good but he doesn't give a crap. And it's not just that he's laid back. He's lazy and is here to collect a paycheck. I'm sure guys like Bergy and Chara see that and from what you say Z has had enough of it.

As for Backes, he is what he is. The majority of the hockey world were scratching their head at the Backes contract. People who have followed Backes said the same thing -- he hadn't been playing as physical over the past two years as in the past. His skill was on the decline. He peaked a 2-3 years ago. But, hey, he had a great stretch of games last year so B's management thought it would be a good idea to give him a salary and term that was stupid, and then combine that with announcing he would possibly be playing out of position right after he signed. Great resource management and failure to deal with roster holes there guys! I don't fault Backes for the stupidity of management. I think he is trying. It's just that he is not the player he used to be. But he sure has grit supposedly and is good in the room. Bs have plenty of that we are told by management since that is the type of players they keep adding to the team. Unfortunately all this grit on the team and character in the room is not scoring goals and winning games. I feel bad for players like Z, Bergy, and Marchy who are super competitive and have had to endure the roster debacle that management has created.

Thanks for sharing Lady...what the heck has happened to Krejci? What's your take on the coach? There must be 2 camps pro / con in that bruin locker room?

I haven't seen any reason to say the coach has lost the team. Maybe sometime that will come but I don't see it now. I am sure some players don't like some of his decisions but he still seems to have their respect (from where I sit). This doesn't mean Julien is safe from getting fired....Someone will have to be blamed for this season....I am just not sure it should be the coach.

IMO Chara is having his best year in a few. I was glad to see him so wound up last night. Brad and Bergy were as well.

I am more concerned with some of the players who should be leaders and aren't pulling their weight .

sigh...I guess I will be saving $$ again this year when the playoffs arrive.:(

Rask is the anti-Timmy.

Thomas was unorthodox, let in a gaff now and then, but was clutch and made the right saves at the right time.

Tuukka is the exact opposite.

krejci snd backes have been awful.
but rask has been weak too.
both jones and smith bailed their teams out bigtime last nite.
i would take both those goalies over tuukka.
the guy is only good when he plays a low amount of games

beyond frustrating, bloody embarrassing this team has 1 win from a backup goalie

has any team had this few wins from a backup during the course of the year?

Leafs only have 2 wins and 5 ponts (I think) from the BU goalie this season. Was mentioned on HNIC a few times last night that the perfomrance of the BU this season league wide has been dismal.
