Playoff experience is a thing. Even if the Rangers don't win it all, it's good for the young players especially to get a taste of how it's like in the playoffs.

Since this team is going to be up against the cap next season while lacking any depth whatsoever, a lot of the solutions are going to have to come from prospects or from bargain bin signings.
McKegg, Gauthier, and to a lesser extent Hunt and Reaves could be seriously improved on.
Which is why it's peculiar how little we're seeing Barron, as he's the obvious first choice for a look.

They'll get it likely with this group. I believe they will benefit from playoff experience and if we can upgrade by trading picks, I'm good with that.
