It's good that we have those East coast connections with Rangers, Isles and Capitals that have always traded us top quality goalies.

Nah. Given where we are in the standings we need to get the free 2 points every chance we can get.


Playing Annunen today greatly diminishes our chances of winning this game.

IMO the Tampa game was the game to give George a break. He should be playing the b2b here against two western conference Rivals.


At the very least the right play was to start George today and secure the win. Then if he needs a rest you play Annunen tomorrow where you're at least guaranteed the .500 weekend. Now there's a pretty good chance we lose today to the Blues and then have to fave a rested hungry Oilers team tomorrow and need to win that just to get a .500 weekend.
 
With two days off coming into this B2B and four days off after IMO Georgie could have played both games without risking injuries too much.

Yep. If he played both games of the last b2b there's no reason he shouldn't play these 2.


I think the mistake was playing George against Tampa. Should have just went with JoJo for that one, the only game against an Eastern conference team in all these b2bs

The Eagles crowd chants Juuuicce when he makes a good save.
 
Seeing the name Brendan McNicholas makes you wonder about how far back the Mc/Mac (son of) naming convention goes with more recently popular names.

For example, has anyone ever known someone with McTrevor as a last name?

Maybe Justus is a better fighter than George? You know that Binnington is going to want to start something today.

Annunen is 22. Still very young for a goalie. And I think the playoffs made it pretty clear the Avs prefer him over JoJo when he was the one backing up Frankie against the Oilers.
 
With our Makar Toew Girard, Manson and Byram all in I think its the best time to give annunen a chance. Thats the healthiest our defense has been and probably will be with how our season has gone. We can actually evaluate him without the asterisks of playing behind an injured defensive unit
