GDT: Game 54 Mack (Sharks) vs Matty (Kraken) 730 ESPN with the Dads

I'm too f***ing drunk to think logically about this. I'm more mad that I have to wait til Tuesday to watch them play rather than the game itself, which was a lost cause from the get go

I blame Roxy Bernstein for this
He tried so hard at the end to say some good things about the Sharks, about Askarov and the Sharks' prospect pool...he tried.

I still remember back when Dan Rusanowsky had his terrible car accident and was out of commission for a while and Roxy filled in for him on the radio. I was in school in L.A. and had to rely on streaming radio broadcasts to keep up with the Sharks and thought Roxy did an admirable job, so it's kind of fun to hear him call Sharks games now once or twice a year for ESPN. Ideally it would be nice if it were for a better performance than this!

Yeah that's the reason we lost, because we didn't have the GOAT Jack Thompson.
Is Jack Thompson a better puck mover than most of the Sharks D? Yes.
Is Jack Thompson a more reliable man than most of the Sharks D? Yes.

Of course adding Jack Thompson doesn’t make it an automatic win - but it’s microcosm of the broader line up decisions that actively make this team worse. Think of it this way - death by a thousand cuts, would removing one cut prevent death? No, but reducing the amount of cuts is a positive move. Put Thompson in the lineup, get Goodrow out of it, etc.

We know this team isn’t good, but are you actually happy with the product you’re watching? Because I’m not enjoying this team since the start of December.

Goodrow is going to be a regular on the Sharks for the next 2 years. He brings leadership and grit. Intangibles. Tankability. Better get used to it. Shark won't compete for a playoff spot until Goodrow is out of contract. Which is probably the next 2 years.

It's not worth it. I suspect (hope) that his tendency to "misread" and twist other comments into weird strawman arguments is some sort of misanthropic intentional bit, which means he knows exactly what he's doing and is being this obtuse on purpose.
