Defense is a nightmare, bottom-six is full of non-NHLers, Granlund and Zetterlund are clearly hurt, and Askarov can't stop the bleeding. Soon as Wennberg was announced out I knew this game was a goner.

the backup plan is to draft the next best player available and not worry about going after the second best d-man in the draft because chasing needs in the draft only works when it coincides with breaking ties on the best available players or the best player is what the team needs (like with Schaefer)

Misa/Hagens is a better take than trading down like 5-10 picks to take the next wave of defenders and maybe picking up a 2nd and 3rd or whatever.
