Question:

What is better deterrence against dangerous hits like the one by Wilson: having to fight Nick Foligno (who has to instigate and gets a misconduct), or having Jenner go after your defenceman?

I think guys like Neil and Wilson love having to fight Foligno and love forcing the misconduct. It makes them more likely to go for a big hit. Meanwhile, the threat of having to trade injuries to your defence ought to terrify them.

I admire what Foligno did but Wilson and Neil is exactly why we need a guy like Boll or Prout in the lineup. You can't let that stuff go and nobody can really deliver a punch like Wilson can. Props to FOligno though

Do you think having to fight Prout or Boll would stop Wilson from playing his game?

Jenner did not go after Green. He was making a play on the puck and finishing a check.

If Green didn't start to fall the hit would have been shoulder to shoulder

Great period! That's the toughness and chippy play I was talking about! When we play like that, the players are engaged, the fans are engaged and we do well!

Horton looks a ton better already with RyJo and Boone, keep them together! DMac looked great, Johnson was playing tough, nikitin had a good hit, Boone, Horton and foligno all bringing the physical play! Keep it going!

They're trying to get the game under control.

At least they made an equally weak makeup call.

I know what you're saying, but it seems like they're making it more out of control.

The Jackets and Caps were playing just fine until a couple of non-calls which were the faults of the officials. Make those calls, and it's a perfectly clean game. Now, they're picking and choosing ticky-tack calls which means even more frustration.

I think Jenner hit Green to hurt him, Jenner's a bone breaking hitter, let's not forget.
