When was the last time the CBJ controlled the flow of the game?
I feel like we had no business scoring on that play. That passing lane was clogged, yet Jones threaded the needle and Wild Bill got off the shot. A lot of talent and a bit of luck there.
Of course leading the hit chart while being last in the league means nothing. If you can bring the pain to some of the other teams best players, as a dman or as a forechecker, go for it.
Anyone think Werenski turns pro after this school year and joins the CBJ before the end of the season? Would hate to see him bur a year off his ELC for a handful of meaningless games.
I guess my point would be if hits mattered that much, should we be the last team in the league? I agree with your point and I am not saying I am anti-hitting in the slightest, I just don't see it being a big deal statwise.

I should have explained myself better. I agree that most hits don't mean much in hockey. The big hits that have an effect on the play are what I'm talking about. A dman with an open ice hip check on a forward coming one on one, or a forward plastering a dman going back to retrieve a puck in his own end. Those hits can change momentum or make the hitee think twice about the next similar situation.
