Reading the Bruins have the 5th highest cost of attendance in the NHL.Also the 5th worth goal differential.Something has to give

They also play in the #1 highest average income and 2nd highest cost of living state in the nation. Not to mention a lack of parking, which also adds to the cost of attendance.

In reality being #5, given the area we live in, is a relative bargain

Saddledome they have a big parking lot with a bit of a walk 15 bucks .I like parking in the parking lot close to doors for 50 bucks or watching on TV at home

I think they are nuts...this is more realistic: four tickets, four hot dogs, two beers, two soft drinks, two souvenir hats, and parking.

Yeah to me that seems like guys going solo trying to make things happen on their own, not trusting each other. Especially in Mcavoy’s case.

Don’t think Mcavoy suddenly forgot how to play defense.

Lohrei may be more coaching/development.

That is exactly what I saw happening last night especially after it was 4 - 2. Players trying to do it on their own. It's actually what lead to Winnipeg's third goal with Lohrei (rookie mistake, I bet he won't do that again). But I digress,... players trying to carry and rush the puck into the offensive zone themselves, rather than short quick passes to teammates.

McAvoy - I was hoping he would learn something sitting out seeing the game from another perspective, but he showed a lot of the same traits that are now predictable; such as in the offensive zone circling around the back of the net to the far corner trying to make a play - he either usually loses the puck and gets caught deep or make an errant pass across the middle and gets caught deep as the other team breaks out. Oh, and let's not talk about how often he misses the net when he shoots , so frustrating.

Trent Frederic back in his camouflage out there again. I guess he had like 2-3 decent games in a row, time for him to take 9-10 off now.

Frederic was sick lost 7 - 10 lbs hasn't been able to regain the weight. That will zap a person's strength and stamina. It may be difficult until the break. Maybe then he can add that weight back on. I'm less worried about him then I am some others on the team that never show any emotion or think they are too good to work harder on their weaknesses to try and improve.

If management does decide they want to look at a Canuck (maybe Boeser if the other two aren't a fit) it might be workable if Zadorov is included in the deal. The fans in Vancouver loved him, and he recently said how much fun he had playing there and how much he appreciated the coaching staff. Plus, there's suddenly a bunch of discussion in Vancouver media with the management saying they basically offered him the same contract as he got in Boston but communication wasn't good. (Plus his agent had a bunch of clients in Vancouver and was likely pissed that they'd been moving off some of them.) Sounds like they haven't gotten over him since nobody does anything when their captain keeps getting abused by other teams and they know Z wouldn't hesitate to step up.

Brock Boeser is exactly what this team needs. However, I'd be tempted to pull the trigger on a Miller deal IF the Bruins could unload one (if not both) of the Lindholms. Hampus Lindholm was born to be a Canuck!

I really like Hampus and I think his ability to make good plays with the puck from the back end is something this team sorely needs, so personally I'd prefer to keep him. Elias I'd be more than happy to see the back of, but the chances of finding someone who'll take on that terrible contract are very small, plus he has a full NMC.

Thats the way the draft works, players you draft in the past reflects your future, good or bad.

Claude wouldn't have gotten outcoached by a brainless Berube, and he would have sent Chara out to dummy Maroon the first time he mouthed off to the B's bench.

That is true - Julien would have suited that series perfectly - but then a Claude-run Bruins would not have won the series against the Jackets and Canes as easily as Cassidy's did. Or, to use a different example, a Cassidy-led Bruins would never have had Monty's 2022-23 regular season record, but was probably much more likely to have beaten Florida in the 1st round. Different coaches have different strengths.

And much as I dislike Berube and think him an ass, he's not stupid. Far from it. Real rat cunning there. I would not be at all surprised if he's the one to finally take the Leafs on a deep playoff run.

Based on what? Their drafting in the last 5 years has netted Lohrei and Poitras. Maybe more eventually from the likes of Lysell and Brunet but there's no proof there yet. And even with the other two, while I think both are NHL quality, the jury is still very much out on where exactly the land as players long-term - both have some significant challenges still to overcome. Sweeney's best drafting patch was in 2016-2017, other than that it's been pretty sketchy.

I've actually defended the overall record in the past because their sheer lack of high picks has made the task very difficult, so it's hard to expect too much more. But to therefore say that what they've done is "pretty good" is too far for me. I'd rather call it "understandable".

And if we include 2019 since that is five drafts ago, we got John Beecher, who, I guess has beaten the odds by playing 100 games but who is not looking like he is going to help the team move forward much. That year we also got Quinn Olson currently not tearing up the ECHL, Bychkov, Mantykivi, and Schmaltz, none of whom will play for the Bruins. Again, pass for not having high picks in each round, but also have given away a lot in trades.

Understandable is a good word, but pretty good is stretching it. Decent comes to mind- could have done better, could have done worse.
