I think this is another example of the "prairie fatalism" I've heard about since relocating here last spring. You could also add that the Hawks played last night, a game that went into overtime, and arrived here at some gawdforsaken hour in the morning. In the eyes of many Winnipegers, all this points toward certain doom.

I'm expecting otherwise. I'm expecting us to play a clumsy first period, shake off the rust in the second, and bring home the hammer in the third. And on the plus side, the Hawks' rookie phenom undefeated goalie played last night so I hardly expect him to start tonight. We're so sure of a great time, we've invited friends in to watch the game tonight.

(Now, where to chill the beer with all the snow melting on the balcony.....?)

Haha you know I'm an eternal optimist - my post was tongue in cheek.

It does follow the Jets script.

Besides I'm in the swamps, where fatalism is borne from the various things that want to kill you like , and 🕷

We’ve also had at least one 8pm start.

Tampa broke a tie with 43 seconds left to prevent Dallas from getting to yet another OT. A win tonight and we can really take advantage of our rivals recent poor results.

If the Avs get to second it’s not inconceivable for them to get first. Hopefully we have a hot month and take that chance away from them.

Agreed. We need to get in a playoff mindset. We played at a .625 point pace up to this point. That is a 102.5 point pace, which probably not enough for 1st. Probably need closer to the 108-110 range to have a realistic shot at first.
