I keep forgetting we're a real hockey team. I was about to post how this is going to be a tough test against one of the better teams in the league and then looked and realized we're 1 point behind Vancouver right
now.

Edit - whoops, hadn't updated tankathon. We're 1 point ahead!

Standings since Todd:

Wings #1, Nucks #28. Nuff said.

Please don't fail again vs weak team (Sharks), just do it!

This Canucks team has a first line about on par with Detroit’s, but their healthy forward depth is poopier than our injured forward depth. They also seem mentally fragile. That said, I hope Jake DeBrusk stops killing us on the scoresheet.

I’d really like to see Tank shipped out and we get an upgrade in the form of a 2/3W tweener. Also a Holl replacement would be nice. He was the only defenseman that sucked last night.

It's something like a 20 hour turnaround between the end of yesterday's game and puck drop today.

Ridiculous.
Yeah, that's why I feel this one could be a let down. Hopefully Vancouver goes full Rangers and have no interest in playing hockey.

Splitting this road trip is what they needed to do to stay in the playoff hunt and that has already happened.

I think the travel, mental fatigue, and getting yourself mentally prepared and focused for the next game is the biggest part. I don't think a 20 hour turnaround while playing at home would be much of an issue but traveling can suck. I remember playing hockey tournaments as a kid and having 2 games a day in back to back days, then the "gold medal" game would be an early Sunday game. My sister would play in the womens tournament in Brampton every year and they would play multiple games a day as well. Of course we were kids and had endless energy, but you could also look at it from the perspective of these guys being professional athletes who have been playing their entire lives and train year round.
