Bouchard with no power play goals, has to play with our best defenceman, doesn’t penalty kill, rarely plays in the last two minutes of a close game, and is pretty much exclusively on the ice with Connor McDavid who tilts the ice skewing Bouchard‘s fancy stat numbers? That Bouchard?

Obviously the pressure goes up with a higher cap hit. But it's pretty obtuse to say that a team with McDrai isn't being given a shot to win when only two goals are surrendered. That was the point. It was a specific game with a solid performance, and some people could not stop whining.

That was weak but you can’t win scoring 1 goal. The oilers scored 1 goal in 3 games and mcdrai did nothing in games 6 and 7 . Stu was not why they lost. He did nearly cost us the Nucks series

9th in actual goals for with arguably the two best offensive players in the league should be better tbh. Conversely, 6th in goals against.
The Oilers tend to make goalies look better than they actually are.

To win a Cup you have to find ways to find even with your wonder forwards shut down.

Pittsburgh won games 6 and 7 in 2009 to win the Cup without Crosby or Malkin scoring because MAF took his game to another level.

In 2016, game 7 Conference Finals do or die vs Tampa, no goals from Malkin or Crosby, Pittsburgh wins 2-1 anyway. Both goals from Brandon Rust.

If you think playoffs are all about sexy forwards scoring at will that isn't how it works. You have to win ugly.

If your $2.6M goalie lets in 2 goals in a game, and you have an elite offense that are among the highest paid in the league to score, spending the entire game complaining about only the goalie is a bit imbalanced.

Skinner gets plenty of rope from most here, more than a tandem level goalie should really get, IMO. The flip side to that is a lot of other posters don't have much patience for the player.

He gets defended more than he really needs to be. The stats bear out that he hasn't been nearly good enough this year, and he's been inconsistent since stepping into the league, so it's not like it's a small sample size.
