Special teams are an issue right now. Pk unit mainly skinner but not the only weakness gave up two. Powerplay looks clueless. McDavid and Bouchard do not look great.
Schwartz has complete confidence in Skinner, just like Schwartz was the mastermind behind signing Campbell. We better find a f***ing goalie with all the cap space we're going to have at the deadline.
What are you talking about? The Oilers were in their zone for most of the start of the game and were outshooting them, like, 5-1.i don't know what your interpretation of "outplaying" is......
if it's being on our heels from the get go, and being run,. than yes, we "outplayed" them.
Change Skinners name to a Euro like Kosky and Yak and these guys rip him to shredsf*** off Mark.
Dude isn't even on the ice for a goal against that period and that's who is picks on?
If Skinner doesn't want to be on permanent diaper duty he better get his head out of his own ass.
Let's find another goalie coach while we're at it. Actually, let's do that first.Schwartz has complete confidence in Skinner, just like Schwartz was the mastermind behind signing Campbell.
f***ing Leaf homers giddy on the panel.
I keep saying that firing him is the play. But surely the next choice by him will be the one…Schwartz has complete confidence in Skinner, just like Schwartz was the mastermind behind signing Campbell.
He is officially a plug.Arvidsson has 6 goals on the year, and I think a few might have been EN. He's not been good.
He just really refuses to shoot. I remember us being all excited when he started to one time pucks. Now he just passes everywhere. Deeply frustrating.McDavid has been ass for 75% of the season. Doesn't look like he wants to score with how much he passes from the slot.

Agreed. Skinner brings a lot more upside in any case, and gets paid less.Mark Spector makes Russian bots look objective.
People have talked about dumping Jeff Skinner for cap space but what if we dumped Arvidsson instead?

I'd argue Skinner has actually regressed the last 3 seasons. Reflected in his stats, but also his fundamentals look poor. Bad positioning, bad puck tracking, poor movement; things that a goalie coach should be focusing on and improving in a young goaltender.I keep saying that firing him is the play. But surely the next choice by him will be the one…
This team doesn't have an identity. Last 3 years we were a fast, hard, forechecking team- the fastest in the league and one of the biggest. First line had Mcdavid and Hyman which are a nightmare for D to play against. Then on come Draisaitl and Kane, who are you stopping? Then Foegele Mcleod and Holloway had warts but they were pure speed and transition, which continued the onslaught. This team now has 29, and 97 who looks REALLY off this season- nobody else to rely on aside from that, and the rest of the guys- Janmark, Arvidsson, Henrique, Brown, Podz- more or less cardio merchants who kill time until the big boys can come back on again. Our depth feels like the Kassian-Chiasson years again.Team management really had an awful offseason. And their waiver wire grabs have been shit too.
Passes rarely find guys. He is a crazy turnover machine right now.He just really refuses to shoot. I remember us being all excited when he started to one time pucks. Now he just passes everywhere. Deeply frustrating.
did Woll ever look like he was under duress??What are you talking about? The Oilers were in their zone for most of the start of the game and were outshooting them, like, 5-1.
I remember texting Gregor about him- holy hell Gregor went on a 5 minute rant defending him. When multiple GMs and coaches have been fired and no one has even whispered your name- you’re the second most powerful person in the organizationThe more time Skinner has spent with vampire Schwartz, the worse his game has become. He barely can track pucks or corral rebounds now. Seems like a pretty obvious negative linear relationship.
Unfortunately, Schwartz seems to be bulletproof in this org. All the talking heads won't even entertain any criticism of a goalie coach that has a decade of making Oilers goalies worse.
