Post-Game Talk: Game 51: We had 'em all the way - BRUINS 3 Buffalo 2 (SO)

We are starting to see some separation in the division as Ottawa and Montreal are fading - we just need to stay ahead of Detroit.

No thanks. Fade with them and get a better draft pick. Can't count on SJ to tank for us anymore. Time to be true to what this team is. Straight up not good.

I'm not worried about Pasta and taking his age into account he's been good. However he is steal the weak point of the line next to Loui and Krejci. He would be better served next to Spooner on the 3rd line, but since the other two are so bad he's forced into the top role.

Wouldn't hate for either or both of Connolly or Hayes to be somewhere else next year. Out of the two I would keep Connolly. Will be cheaper and I still hold out hope he can put it together.

I agree with everything you are saying, I honestly keep hoping for Connolly to heat up & I am actually willing to give it the rest of the season before I completely bail on him as I think most of his lack of performance has been due to confidence and snake bitten luck, he has had quite a few posts that would have been beauties.

Also, would love to see Pasta on the 3rd as well.

I'll say again, I think Marchand, Spooner, Bergy, Rask, and Chara were all very good tonight. It isn't Chara's fault he was on the ice that 4v3 PP but he put a lot of rubber on the net, when he was given a clean pass.

I'm very glad for the 2 points, and don't want to complain about anything.

...BUT, I have to ask why Clode insists on giving Chara so much ice time in OT.

It's a recipe for disaster!

Maybe Clode should watch an OT period on TV with Chara on the ice just to see how friggin dangerous he is with all that open ice.

Simple, the rest of the D sucks so bad he has no choice

not really sure why pasta is stapled to the bench with under 8 mins to go in favor of ferraro.

itd be one thing if you were going to give beleskey some extra shifts in the top 6 or hell even spooner or something but ferraro has not brought anything offensively in awhile now.

Because it looked like it was his first game in skates tonight.
A whisper sends him flying off his skates, missed the wide open net,
And just looked like he was stoned all night.

If anyone needs to see a great tough team play then look no further than seids preparing to eat a hockey puck to save a goal in the OT.

That entire PK kill saved his night and the team's. He was horrible for the most part still.

You may be right, but I'd rather see three fast skating forwards on the ice in OT, than have Chara out there.

there were still 3 fast skating forwards out there when it was bruins PP or even strength.

2/5 minutes were bruins PP:
krejci - bergeron - spooner - chara

2/5 mins were bruins PK:
chara - seids - loui/talbot

of the remaining 1 minute of even strength time krug played 50 seconds of it.

i think it turned out ok. with 4 on 3 i just dont see claude going full offense and throwing out krejci, krug, spooner, bergeron. give me 3 of those 4 and im happy.

Kudos to Rask for saving the B's ass once again.

Spooner is looking better and better the more he plays.

...and Marchy is quietly having his best season of his career so far.

There were a few subtle plays chara made tonight that reminded me how good he still is. Holding the point with his reach were most every other d man in the league would've already vacated, using his size to protect and still get the puck towards net, and defensively as he used his body for position on one player while disrupting the player with the puck with his stick...

I was more than happy to see Chara out there in OT for a full 2 mins killing off Bergy's penalty. Guy was a beast and that is why he is so important to this team, he is still their best dman by a country mile.

I cant get mad at a roster for being weak in areas or limited. Thats not on them.

I can encourage guys putting their body on the line and giving maximum effort to win games though.

Loui is dead man walking. All you do right now is keep him at his natural productive LW position and hope he stays healthy until you deal him.

Not that I don't like Loui, or think he's bad on the PP, but to me the silver lining is that Marchand may get legit PP minutes if he is moved.

I'm glad you feel comfortable with Chara on the ice in OT, but to be honest, he scares the **** out of me in a 3 vs 3 or 3 vs 4 situation.

Still the best option for that situation though. Would you rather either Miller or Trotman there instead to kill the penalty?

Dealing Loui is going to make Bruins weaker in short term no matter how many pp mins he gets..I just hope when Sweeney finally deals for a D man its not anything short of a top pairing stud.Enough plugs already on back end.I am fine waiting till off season so land Shatty if that is what it takes.:)

I know the score but didn't see the game. I take it this isn't really worth watching on my dvr?

27 min for Chara tonight, 4 on the PP. If you want him upright at the end of the season Clode, wake the F up and cut the crap.
